The Cox Plate, one of the biggest races in the Spring carnival, is upon us.

Considered one of the big three races on the racing calendar alongside the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, the Cox Plate is run at Mooney Valley racecourse over 2040 metres.

The prize money for the Group 1 race is $5 million, with the winner to take home $3 million.

When is the 2021 Cox Plate?

The 2021 Cox Plate will take place on Saturday 23 October, with the race to get underway at 5.10pm (AEDT).

The Cox Plate will be broadcast on Sky Racing, Channel 7 and Racing.com.
