John Sibbald
GANGSTER'S CHOICE
RACE 6, No. 7
TAB fixed odds: $7
NOT beaten far last start this grade, distance and track with the same weight. Eight attempts at the trip for two wins, two seconds and a third. Should get the run of the race with James McDonald aboard.
Ray Thomas
SMART MOOCHI
RACE 8, No. 11
TAB fixed odds: $9.50
CAME from the clouds to swamp his rivals when resuming at Canterbury then again ran a blinder when a closing fifth to King Cobia on the Kensington track last start. He likes his races spaced so he will appreciate the three weeks between runs, he's a winner over this course and distance - and he is terrific value at around $10.
Ray Hickson
THE ALFONSO
RACE 4, No. 4
TAB fixed odds: $3.30
ABSOLUTE tragedy beaten last start when a $2.80 favourite and he's entitled to go around at that price or less in a moderate line-up. The only reason he isn't favourite is because of boom stablemate Vilanova, who hasn't lived up to his early promise and has 59kg. The Alfonso can atone.
Stephen Zammit
ASHAMAR
RACE 8, No. 6
TAB fixed odds: $11
HAILS from the Bart and James Cummings yard and ran on gamely for close-up third at Canterbury on November, then despite being held up early, scored a game win there on December 18. Looks suited by the extra 100m and will be hitting the line hard at the business end of this.

FOREVER CRAZY
RACE 1, No. 6
TAB fixed odds: $9
FOREVER Crazy is back home for this and distance range is suitable, in what is a tricky all female affair.
Shayne O'Cass
JUNOOB
RACE 7, No. 1
TAB fixed odds: $21
THIS GB-import has only been with Chris Waller for four runs and finished second twice albeit over 2000m and 2400m. He hasn't won under 1950m yet but I venture to say, they've never tried to get him going at the top of his preparation before. The horse trialled very, very well indeed when fourth to Windswept and stablemate/good horse He's Your Man in a Rosehill heat on Xmas eve.
CAULFIELD
Matthew Stewart
BRADMAN
RACE 7, No. 9
TAB fixed odds: $15
WON a nice three-year-old race at Bendigo early in career and kept carrying big weights thereafter. Now comes down to 54.5kg after and OK effort in South Australia.
Simon Moy
ROYAL BENDER
RACE 4, No. 3
TAB fixed odds: $31
DESPITE being a tad disappointing at her past two, the Darren Weir-trained mare is more than capable and should strip a lot fitter for this.
