Team Hawkes and talented jockey Tyler Schiller are attempting an unprecedented clean sweep of the four Rosehill feature races on Saturday.

Schiller rides the stable’s classy mare Makarena ($2 favourite) in the Group 2 $300,000 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) and then climbs into the saddle for boom two-year-old West Of Swindon ($5.50) in the Group 2 $300,000 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m).

The Hawkes stable also has Schiller booked for Foujita San ($9) in the Group 3 $250,000 Parramatta Cup (1900m) and Swiftfalcon ($17) for the Group 2 $400,000 Hobartville Stakes (1400m).

TAB Fixed Odds price assessors rate Makarena as the best of the quartet. The striking chestnut mare is resuming after an excellent spring campaign that included her win in the Group 2 Golden Pendant, close third in The Invitation and unlucky fourth in the Golden Eagle.

“Makarena was terrific in her recent trial win,’’ Schiller said.

“She is so big and strong, she is built more like a colt than a filly and she has returned in great order.

“I think she is going better than ever and I’m really excited to see where she gets to this autumn.’’

West Of Swindon lost narrowly to North England in the Golden Gift last spring and the two promising colts clash again in an intriguing Silver Slipper.

Schiller took a lot of encouragement from West Of Swindon’s recent Randwick barrier trial when he closed late for second.

“West Of Swindon’s trial the other day I thought was good enough,’’ Schiller said.

“He was held up and dashed late but was strong through the line. He has drawn a good barrier (one) and this is going to be a very interesting race.’’

Swiftfalcon won the Listed Duclify Quality last spring but hasn’t started since finishing sixth to El Castello in the Spring Champion Stakes last October.

Schiller didn’t ride Swiftfalcon during the gelding’s spring campaign but was impressed by the three-year-old’s recent barrier trial effort.

“He has been good in his trials and is there to run well,’’ Schiller said.

Foujita San finished fourth to Our Anchorage at Randwick last start and that form suggests he will be competitive in an open Parramatta Cup.

Schiller is also booked to ride the promising Hawkes-trained three-year-old Theblade, a dual acceptor for Canterbury Friday night and Rosehill on Saturday.
