Shayno: Hello Mitch. The Hunter. Will The Kosciuszko form beat The Everest form? Will be if Far Too Easy beats Private Eye. They might well be the two best horses in the race but their wide draws maybe bring them back to a field a tad but it is Newcastle.
Mitch: Shayno! I love the Hunter day and you know why? It means another long spring campaign is nearly over. Competitive race this year for mine but I’ve looked towards the proven class and that’s Private Eye. The draw is tough but he’s the best horse in this race. Wish I had a saver on Briasa at $11 all-in on Sunday.

Shayno: Gee the Spring Stakes has a big honour roll for a Group 3. Encounter, Shogun Lodge, Lotteria, Universal Prince, Clangalang, Proisir and hopefully Althoff to join them tomorrow.
Mitch: I put French Ruler in the blackbook after last start and I couldn’t have been the only one. He’s been $26 into $8. He does need to go from 1200m to a mile but there’s a touch of quality about him. I’m with him.

Shayno: Mitchy, I would love to see Kris Lees win the Max Lees Classic for obvious reasons but my head tells me Secret Glory. She has the pedigree, the trainer, the jockey and the trials to win. You?
Mitch: A race of first starters always offers up a few unknowns. I’ve leant the way of Buffalo. His trial win was excellent and he stays on home turf for trainer David Atkins.
Shayno: Back to Lees, I suspect he has Rogue Bear ready for the Trans Tasman Trophy. The 1850m second-up out of a Little Dance is just the perfect scenario for the horse.
Mitch: Glad You Think So is out to a more suitable trip now after a couple of nice warm ups over the shorter trips. I could be going off a run early but he looks to be going well to my eye. He was placed in a Group 1 Australian Derby don’t forget.

Shayno: Super keen on one at odds on the undercard and that’s Cosmic Lad in the Midway. If there is a horse ready to produce ti’s best at Newcastle on Saturday, it’s him – third run this prep, 1500m, big track.
Mitch: I am locked, loaded and ready to go Shayno. Bullets High will be winning on Saturday.
