The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Lady Of Camelot, under Zac Lloyd, sprinted for home on the turn and held off Giga Kick to score by one-and-a-quarter lengths in a fast 50.43s. Linebacker was more than five lengths away third with Celestial Legend closing nicely late and Democracy Manifest at the back of the field.
Champion jockey James McDonald rode Giga Kick for the very first time with the chestnut gelding holding his ground in the sprint to the finish.
Giga Kick, trained by Clayton Douglas, will trial again before his scheduled return to racing in the Group 3 $1 million Concorde Stakes (1000m) at Royal Randwick on September 7.
