FLEMINGTON
ROD NICHOLSON (Herald Sun). Form: 36264
HAPPY TRAILS
Race 6, No. 2
No luck in Cox Plate. Keeps winning here over 2000m. Primed for big run and rock-hard fit now.
TAB Fixed Odds: $9
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 06291
MAHUTA
Race 1, No. 4
Darren Weir has set this exciting colt for this. Defeated subsequent easy winner Holler at Caulfield last start. Looks nice each-way value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50
DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun). Form: 61600
DELECTATION
Race 9, No. 6
Has a second to Chautauqua and Brazen Beau on his resume. Both up the straight. Enough said.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 68219
PAY UP BRO
Race 7, No. 13
Hasn’t done much wrong in past couple and will be in this for a long way. Is bred to get the trip.
TAB Fixed Odds: $13
NICK QUINN (TAB) Form: 30465
PORNICHET
Race 6, No. 4
Classy middle distance galloper from the Gai Waterhouse stable who showed a return to form in the Cox Plate and is worth an each-way ticket at $10.
TAB Fixed Odds: $10
NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph). Form: 5x092
COUNTERATTACK
Race 4, No. 6
Career best run last start and makes a nice progression into this race with only a two week gap compared to the favourite, who is four weeks between runs. Outside gate suits, stable flying ... hello punters!
TAB Fixed Odds: $15
SIMON MOY (Superracing). Form: 30732
JESSY BELLE
Race 8, No. 6
Is she good enough to win at this grade? Has been racing well and the step to 1600m may be the winning move. Time to shine.
TAB Fixed Odds: $15
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Superracing) Form: 0201
DISPOSITION
Race 3, No. 3
Steps back in class after two seconds at Group 1 level behind Stratum Star and Lucky Hussler. Was paying similar odds in those tougher races so the $4.40 here looks value.
TAB fixed odds: $3.90
DARREN PRENDERGAST (Superracing). Form: 84002
EXTRA CHOICE
Race 7, No. 6
Powered to victory in the Geelong Classic. Should have no trouble with the 2500m, but will have to overcome a tricky draw. Stable knows how to win the Derby and this bloke seems great each-way value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $13
ROSEHILL
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 60083
TREE OF JESSIE
Race 9, No. 7
This mare from the James Cummings yard was well in commission when resuming with a disappointing 11th over 1200m Randwick on October 17. Forced to do it tough on that occasion and the run was much better than it looked. Expect a huge improvement in this.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8
JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 35x08
PRESS REPORT
Race 7, No. 5
Indicated a return to her best form with a solid placing behind Dream Choice over this trip at Randwick, earlier this month. Not easy to catch but is opposed to her own sex, which is of great assistance.
TAB Fixed Odds: $11
SHAYNE O’CASS (The Sportsman). Form: 73408
DINGHU MOUNTAIN
Race 4, No. 5
Indicated a return to her best form with a solid placing behind Dream Choice over this trip at Randwick, earlier this month. Not easy to catch but is opposed to her own sex, which is of great assistance.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7
DOOMBEN
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 73415
NOTONYOURLIFE
Race 7, No. 11
Suited back to mares grade after nice closing effort in a strong race last time. Big field will generate its own speed and she can hit the line strongly again.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8.50
BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 659x6
SELFIE (Race 6, No. 10), RAJAMANI (Race 7, No. 16), MARKSFIELD (Race 8, No. 3)
Apologies about the three tips but these three are all at double figure odds and should all run well this weekend. Selfie is a last-start city winner and although he is up in class he goes even better on soft ground and the $12 (Bet 365) looks over the odds. Nardoo is the one to beat in race 7 but $34 is still available (bet 365) for Rajamani and the $9.50 a place looks spectacular. Only beaten one length by Nardoo last time out and gets through the wet OK. The $12 (TAB) about Marksfield in the last also looks a good each-way bet and his run was better than it looked the other day at the Gold Coast after he was slow to begin. Drawn well and while Siliqua looks the hardest to beat in the last, Marksfield is definitely great value.
TAB Fixed Odds: SELFIE ($10), RAJAMANI ($17), MARKSFIELD ($12)
MORPHETTVILLE
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 11261
CARO KANN
Race 5, No. 1
Hasn’t won since leading throughout at Caulfield in April but should be prominent in this from inside barrier. Wasn’t beaten a long way in good form race last time and well worth an each-way ticket if he’s around the $8 mark.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 12581
DEFIANT ANGEL
Race 3, No. 1
Trialled well before being run off her feet first-up by Swinging Arms, who then ran second behind Flamberge, over the 1200m. Was flying last time in work, has two wins and a second from five second-up outings and the step to the 1550m suits. The claim for Emily Finnegan is another bonus.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50
