HOT TIPS: WEEKEND BEST BETS
RANDWICK
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 330x0
BACARELLA
Race 5, No. 7
Is a promising filly coming off an impressive maiden win at Canterbury, overcoming a wide draw and dominating her rivals. She has had nearly two months between runs but has been kept up to the mark with two good barrier trials in recent weeks. Tough task but if she gets across from her wide barrier without using up too much petrol early she will run a race at $21.
TAB Fixed Odds: $21
BRAD DAVIDSON (Daily Telegraph). Form: 4040x
CONARCHIE
Race 1, No. 7
Brave effort at Rosehill last start and he was a dominant winner at Warwick Farm before that. Super Tycoon is flying but Conarchie meets him 7.5kg better for being beaten one length by that horse four starts back. Any rain would help but he represents value at $4.60 either way.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.60
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 07058
LE ROMAIN
Race 6, No. 5
Returns from a break and Kris Lees will have him ready to win. Scored in the Randwick Guineas, then failed in the Rosehill Gneas back in March. Fitter for two trials, latest when third over 1000m at Gosford. Working well and can win this first-up.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4
JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: x7737
FRILL SEEKING
Race 8, No. 7
Boasts a fitness edge on at least half this field and gets in on the minimum weight here following sound winter placings at her past two city starts. Over the odds at her present quote. Great each-way value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $21
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 96420
I CAN ROCK
Race 9, No. 13
This race should be run at breakneck speed and that will suit I Can Rock. This flashy chestnut has to be ridden stone cold but he has a huge finish on him. Hang on to your hats, he will be finishing like a shot out of a gun.
TAB Fixed Odds: $26
DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 41376
PRIZED ICON
Race 4, No. 1
Quality colt who ended last campaign with Group 1 victory in the Champagne Stakes. Has plenty of weight but also a touch of class and is drawn well with Hugh Bowman aboard. Should be charging home late.
TAB Fixed Odds: $10
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 48115
LE ROMAIN
Race 6, No. 5
Flew under the radar last prep until he defeated Press Statement in the Randwick Guineas. There’s an X-factor about him whereas his opposition have probably reached their potential.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4

MOONEE VALLEY
MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 78504
TOOLEYBUC KID
Race 6, No. 4
Massive when underdone at Flemington. Big improver.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun) Form: x3922
HEATHERLY
Race 8, No. 5
Flying mare who should be able to dominate this race. Judging by recent win by seven lengths in recent Flemington jump-out over 800m she should be in for a big campaign. $3.50 looks over the odds.
TAB Fixed Odds: $3.10
DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun) Form: 09407
YULONG BABY
Race 6, No. 8
Consistent mare who rarely puts in a bad one.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5
SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 0x110
YULONG BABY
Race 6, No. 8
Track against her style of racing but if they beat themselves up at the front she might have last laugh and mow them down at the finish. Consistent and racing well.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 47376
THROSSELL
Race 5, No. 1
Won both starts last campaign including an impressive win at Flemington.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7.50

EAGLE FARM
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 00015
STELLA DI NOTTE
Race 8, No. 15
Two runs back after having just one run in the space of a year have been good. Finished off last time in this class giving the impression this distance is going to suit now. Ran well in stakes grade as a 2yo and her efforts this time in suggest she is ready to peak again.
TAB Fixed Odds: $13

MORPHETTVILLE
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 37121
MAGNUS MAGIC
Race 8, No. 13
Like the way she got to the line against her own sex when second to One More Daisy on this track last time. Gives the impression she’ll appreciate the step up to 1400m and expect her to be strong when it counts with top jockey Jason Holder in the saddle.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 23144
THE SEDUCTRESS
Race 1, No. 4
Showed plenty winning two races earlier on in her two-year-old preparation before being specked in a Blue Diamond Preview when down the track behind Sword Of Light. Has the benefit of two trials under her belt, including a Cranbourne trial win over impressive Flemington winner I Am A Star.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8
