Australian singing icon Jess Mauboy to headline entertainment for TAB Eureka night at Menangle
The world’s richest harness race at Menangle on Saturday September 7 will be headlined by the appearance of pop princess Jessica Mauboy.
BUOYED by the success of the inaugural TAB Eureka with entertainment starring Birds Of Tokyo, Club Menangle are taking it to another level in 2024.
Club Menangle CEO Bruce Christison has announced ARIA award-winning singer Jessica Mauboy will be the headline act, performing after the last race on TAB Eureka night at Menangle on Saturday, September 7.
Also performing on the night will be fellow ARIA award winner Alex Lloyd whose hit song ‘Amazing’ will be used throughout the advertising campaign for the $2.1 million showpiece.
“We want to make the whole night an event, not just about the racing,” Christison said.
“We are trying to get to a different and wider audience. People who aren’t just your week-in week-out harness enthusiasts.
“It worked really well last year with the DJ between races plus the concert after the last race.
“We were just blown away by with how successful it really was.”
Club Menangle recorded their biggest ever crowd since the opening of the course in 2008 at last year’s TAB Eureka.
Providing the weather does the right thing, Christison expects Club Menangle will get an even bigger crowd this year.
“With Jess Mauboy being the headline act in the concert after the last race, we think she will appeal to a wide range of people,” Christison added.
“We are also using Alex Lloyd’s hit song ‘Amazing’ as the anthem for The Eureka this year and we are using it on the ads for the race.
“Alex will be performing trackside before the race so there are a couple of different levels of musical entertainment there.”
Aside from the entertainment, Club Menangle will be offering various options for food and drinks with their Miracle Mile restaurant as well as a lawn marquee wile Aussie Night Markets will also be trackside on the night.
“The night markets are great on their own and they are trackside the second Saturday of each month,” Christison said,
“They add a great variety of stalls from food, drinks and other stalls.
“Then there is also the uplifting hospitality of the restaurant and the lawn marquee which also has a DJ in there.
“It worked really well for the Miracle Mile where we sold it out and we expect to sell it out on The TAB Eureka night as well.”
