Nominations online for William Reid Stakes night

The nominations have William Reid Stakes night at The Valley have dropped.

Speedster Marabi will look to extend her unbeaten record to eight when she contests Friday night’s William Reid Stakes (1200m) at The Valley.

The daughter of I Am Invincible has taken all before her in the past six months culminating in a maiden Group 1 when proving too quick for her rivals in the Oakleigh Plate.

She is one of 20 nominations for Friday night’s Group 1 that also includes Manikato Stakes victor Jonker.

Newmarket Handicap placegetter The Astrologist and September Run also feature in the nominations along with last year’s The Everest contenders Trekking and The Inferno.

Hawkes Racing colt Remarque is likely to make his Melbourne debut following his first-up effort behind Shelby Sixtysix and could be joined by stablemate Electric Girl.

A total of 17 fillies and mares have been entered for the Group 2 Sunline Stakes (1600m).

Among the entries include the likes of Flying Mascot, Kissonallforcheeks and Annavisto while Group 1 winner Shout The Bar could also feature.

Other notable races on Friday night’s card include the St Albans Stakes and 55 Second Challenge Final.

The track was rated a good (4) on Monday morning with the rail to be in the true position for the entire circuit.

Meanwhile, Saturday racing heads to Mornington where a Caulfield Cup spot is up for grabs.

A total of 17 have been nominated for the race with the likes of Sacramento, Pondus and Crystal Pegasus expected to line up.

Along with Crystal Pegasus, master trainer Chris Waller has entered Yonkers and Criminal Code.
