Champion Mr Brightside has been cleared for takeoff to Hong Kong on Monday.

The nine-time Group 1 winner, entered for the Champions Mile (1600m) at Sha Tin on April 27, completed a final jumpout at Flemington on Friday and cleared subsequent pre-export veterinary checks to officially stamp travel papers.

Lindsay Park trainer Ben Hayes said Mr Brightside has “ticked all the boxes”.

“We’re very happy, they did the trot up to travel and he passed with flying colours,” Hayes said.

Mr Brightside won the 800m jumpout under champion jockey Craig Williams.

“Craig let him extend to the line today, he was very good, he jumped, went to the line nicely and won the jumpout.

“It was just another good stepping stone to head towards his grand final over in Hong Kong.

“Craig was very happy with him, he’s ridden him in all his jumpouts, so we’re very happy to have a go.”
