CLASSY mare Red Tracer is Australia’s most honest racehorse and she should chalk up her 15th win in 33 starts in today’s Millie Fox Stakes, 1300m, at Rosehill.

The six-year-old won the Millie Fox in 2012 and 2013 and the hat-trick should be a formality following three easy trials and with a good barrier, a good jockey and a trainer who gets the best out of her.

In Melbourne the Australian Guineas heads the program at Flemington where the South Aussie Hucklebuck heads the betting ahead of Eurozone and Shamus Award.

NOTE: Rosehill rail out six metres. Can favour on speed runners

Race 1 Sydney (12.50)

Betting: $2.10 Ecuador, $3.60 Target in Sight, $5 Almighty Charge, $9.50 Keith’s Legacy

Comment: The Waterhouse pair, Ecuador and Almighty Charge, should set the speed and both are last start winners at the top of their games. The question is has Ecuador’s wins been better than Target In Sight’s last start win? Keith’s Legacy (good trial) and Express Power (sound last run) also have claims.

Bet: 8 Target In Sight

Exotics: Exacta 8 Target In Sight, 2 Ecuador

Race 2 (1.30)

Betting: $2.80 Dream Choice, $4.20 Lonace, $5 Boss Lane, $8 Haussman

Comment: Lonace (resuming after 14 months) and Boss Lane (first-up for four months) look the two main go forward horses. Both are stacked with ability, but Lonace’s long lay off is against him. Dream Choice has crept up in weight, but his two recent wins have been strong and impressive. Territory, Haussman and Earnest Ernest are all going well enough to be considered.

Bet: 2 Dream Choice

Exotics: Box trifecta 1 Territory, 2 Dream Choice, 3 Haussman, 5 Boss Lane

Race 3 (2.10)

Betting: $1.65 Red Tracer, $4.40 Royal Descent, $8 A Time For Julia, $9.50 Driefontein

Comment: Red Tracer is a superior sprinter to these mares and should win. Driefontein should be ridden forward in this line-up and could lead with A Time For Julia. Driefontein could be the favourite’s danger. Royal Descent is classy, but 1300m is short of her best distance although she will hit the line hard. Longport could be a query runner.

Bet: 1 Red Tracer

Exotics: Exacta 1 Red Tracer, 4 Driefontein

Race 4 (2.45)

Betting: $2.80 Unencumbered, $3.80 Risen From Doubt, $4.40 Law, $4.60 Mossfun

Comment: Unencumbered, Law and Mossfun are all quality youngsters, but are they A1 class? Risen From Doubt was extremely impressive in his Flemington win at the Cups carnival and could be the sleeper in the juvenile ranks. Law will probably lead this week and how the race is run is important. Even the roughies Modoc and Hampton Court can surprise with the right runs.

Bet: 3 Risen From Doubt

Exotics: Play the trifectas with 4 Modoc and 5 Hampton Court for a bit of value.

Race 5 (3.20)

Betting: $1.90 Junoob, $4.80 Lightinthenite, $8 Carlton House, Jacquinot Bay

Comment: Junoob drops to 54kg and the way he has hit the line in his two recent wins probably explains why he has already firmed from $2.30. Honourable Aussie and Winning Glory are likely to set a solid pace and Lightinthenite (ready to show his best) should get the right run and hit the lead in the straight. Carlton House is a quality import and now up to a suitable distance.

Bet: 6 Junoob

Exotics: Box trifecta 1 Carlton House, 3 Bayrir, 4 Lightinthenite, 6 Junoob

Race 6 (4.00)

Betting: $2.70 El Roca, $6 Atlante, Woodbine, $7 Dissident, $9.50 Romantic Touch

Comment: El Roca has promised a lot for a while and he produced in the Eskimo Prince at this track two weeks ago. His wide draw could be a problem, but he is likely to go forward with LIberty’s Choice and the Kiwi Atlante the only designated leaders. Dissident is honest and won’t be far away, Romantic Touch was terrific first-up and Woodbine is a winner, although in weaker class.

Bet: 5 El Roca

Exotics: Quinella 2 Romantic Touch, 5 El Roca

El Roca will be hard to beat in the Hobartville Stakes.
El Roca will be hard to beat in the Hobartville Stakes.

Race 7 (4.40)

Betting: $5 Maysoon, $7 Diamond Oasis, Cosmic Endeavour, Polarmore

Comment: Diamond Oasis and Mon Giteau are the only two with recent runs. Pasadoble and Cosmic Endeavour should cross from their wide draws and be up front and reasonable speed looks certain. Maysoon, from an in form stable, will get a good run and so too Diamond Oasis from the inside.

Bet: 1 Diamond Oasis

Exotics: Box trifecta 1 Diamond Oasis, 3 Maysoon, 8 Cosmic Endeavour, 9 Polarmore

Race 8 (5.20)

Betting: $3.80 Tamariz, $5 Forever Crazy, 6 Black Jag, $7 Empress Elect, $9.50 Dormello

Comment: The Waterhouse pair, Tamariz and Dormello, look the likely leaders with Retort Courteous and Ultimate Gaze close up. Tamariz has been beaten as favourite at his last three runs, but has a chance again and so too the two Waller runners, Black Jag and Forever Crazy, who are racing well. In a tricky race Empress Elect, with barrier one, could be hard to hold out.

Bet: 8 Empress Elect

Exotics: Box trifecta 2 Forever Crazy, 3 Tamariz, 4 Ultimate Gaze, 8 Empress Elect
