Jamie Kah locked in for Melbourne Cup ride
Jamie Kah is currently serving a suspension but she’ll be back in the saddle very shortly - and has a big chance to win the Melbourne Cup.
Star jockey Jamie Kah has been locked in to ride the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Point King in the Melbourne Cup.
Kah and Point King combined to win the Archer Stakes (2500m) in mid-September, which meant the horse was exempt from the ballot for the Cup.
She is two-from-two on the horse, having careered to a dominant win at The Valley on him in August over 2040m.
Point King is allotted 50.5kg for the 3200m feature.

Ben Melham rode Point King into a runner-up result in the Bart Cummings (2520m) on Saturday, narrowly beaten by tiring leader Just Fine.
It is not expected Point King will have another run between now and the big one on November 5.
Kah will be donning the famous navy blue and white armbands that belong to record Cup-winning owner Lloyd Williams, who has claimed the famous three-pronged trophy on seven occasions, most recently in 2020.
Sharing ownership with Williams in Point King is billionaire James Packer.
Point King is $11 in TAB’s all-in market.
Her booking on Point King is also notable for the fact that she now won’t be partnering The Map - the SA mare and Kah have had a fruitful connection, combining three times for two dominant wins and the narrowest of defeats in an Adelaide Cup.
The Map is also ballot-exempt for the Cup after winning the Andrew Ramsden, and is a lightweight ride up for grabs at 50kg.
