The fast approaching The Everest has taken shape further with Lady Of Camelot securing a place in the $20m showpiece at Royal Randwick on October 19.

James Harron, the slot-holder with the “Midas touch” in The Everest, has confirmed he has leased his slot to Sir Owen Glenn, the owner of Lady Of Camelot.
“It is fantastic to do a deal with Sir Owen,” said Harron who has won The Everest twice with Giga Kick (2022) and Redzel (2017).
“Lady Of Camelot is an outstanding flagship for his hugely successful breeding operation and we are looking forward to cheering her on at Randwick in The Everest, with upside for our partners in the slot built into the deal should she run as well as we hope she can.”
Steve O’Connor, director of Go Bloodstock for Sir Owen Glenn, said he is thrilled to be heading to The Everest with Lady Of Camelot.
“Winning the breed-shaping Group 1 Golden Slipper was an incredible achievement for Sir Owen as an owner and a breeder,’’ O’Connor said.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Lady Of Camelot will attempt to become the first three-year-old filly – and the first Golden Slipper winner – to win The Everest, run at Royal Randwick on October 19.
Only three fillies, including Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign, have contested The Everest and all competed in the race’s inaugural running in 2017.
She Will Reign ran 11th while the other fillies, Tulip (fifth) and Houtzen (seventh), were unplaced behind Redzel.
The only other Golden Slipper winner to run in The Everest was Shinzo which ran ninth last year when Think About It won the rich Randwick sprint.
But the three-year-old age group have managed two The Everest wins with colt Yes Yes Yes (2019) and gelding Giga Kick (2022).
Lady Of Camelot becomes the seventh confirmed starter in The Everest after I Wish I Win (slot-holder Trackside Media), Bella Nipotina (TAB), Joliestar (Chris Waller Racing), Stefi Magnetica (Newgate and GPI Racing), I Am Me (Arrowfield and The Star), and Storm Boy (Coolmore).
Sunshine In Paris is considered a virtual lock for the Fairway Thoroughbred slot that is managed by the mare’s owner, John Camillieri.
In latest TAB Fixed Odds betting for The Everest, I Wish I Win remains favourite at $5 ahead of brilliant three-year-old Growing Empire at $6, Bella Nipotina is $7 and Giga Kick next at $8 while Lady Of Camelot is at $26.
