A potential three-state campaign will begin when smart mare Foxy Frida resumes in Saturday’s Gold Bracelet at Bendigo.

The goal is simple. Win a black type race.

Ballarat trainer Andrew Noblet has already notched a stakes placing with talented mare Foxy Frida but he’s keen for higher honours for the four-year-old this time in.

“She’s Group 3-placed but it’s important we get a stakes win with her now,” Noblet said.

Saturday’s Gold Bracelet doesn’t carry black type status but Noblet thinks it will be the perfect springboard into Group contests interstate in the coming weeks.

“She’ll have Saturday’s race then probably to Adelaide for the (Group 2) Queen Of The South (Stakes) and another stakes race before we sit down and work out the rest of her prep,” Noblet said.

“We’ll have a good look at going to Queensland because there’s a few races up there that would suit her.”

Noblet had plans to take Foxy Frida to Sydney for the autumn but a foot niggle prompted him to abandon that idea.

Foxy Frida has placed twice in three first-up runs but those runs were over shorter trips than the 1400m of the Gold Bracelet.

Foxy Frida has opened at $8 in Gold Bracelet betting but bookmakers rate her stablemates Hint Of Mint ($126) and Demando ($34) as longshots in the 11-horse field.

Noblet said Hint Of Mint’s form is better than it looks on paper.

“Hint Of Mint was drawn the inside which didn’t suit her in a stakes race in Adelaide last start but she ran OK,” he said.

“She’s going better than her form suggests. She just needs speed on with her racing style.”

Noblet said Demando was hard to place because of her rating but would enjoy racing with a lighter weight at Bendigo.

The Symon Wilde-trained Sirileo Miss has been well-backed in early betting, firming from $5.50 to $4.40, despite struggling after a hard run when resuming in the Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes.

The Ciaron Maher-trained La Chevalee opened as the $3.50 favourite but TAB quickly pushed her price to $4 after the support emerged for Sirileo Miss.
