It comes after his father Anthony Cummings’ training career was brought to a standstill last week when his licence was rescinded and was given seven days to vacate Leilani Lodge where more than 50 horses are stabled.
Anthony’s business, Rosscarbery Holdings Pty Ltd, went into liquidation last year.
His application for a staying of proceedings was denied last Friday night but Anthony has appealed the decision to have his licence revoked.
Edward Cummings, a multiple Group 1-winning trainer, was given approval by the Australian Turf Club on Sunday to take over Leilani Lodge until the case is heard however he will require a metropolitan trainer licence.
He informed stable owners of the update on Tuesday afternoon and revealed he has made a proposal to stewards regarding race nominations from next week.
There hasn’t been a runner from Leilani Lodge since Nowra on February 9 where the stable had two winners.
If Cummings takes over Leilani Lodge, he will be allowed to manage the Randwick base until the end of the Autumn Carnival after which the Australian Turf Club will open applications to take over the stable. He would also be able to apply.
