ROSEHILL
Track: Soft 5. Rail: True
RACE 1
Overview: One race I still have a bit of work to do on but it looks like an open TAB Highway as usual. Mr Eighty Eight, Sky Diamonds, Jalmari, Radiohead, Syrian Star and Rebels Edge all have claims and the chances don’t end there!
Advice: Wide exotics to kick off the day.
RACE 2
Overview: Fascinating race this with plenty of angles. Kote was brilliant at Canterbury last start and he looks the horse to beat again off that dominant performance. Cruel Summer wants the rain to come but he is a good chance if it does. He has been trialling nicely. All Machiavellian was super first up and I can see him running a cheeky race from the inside draw here. Cool Lad and Adios Steve also have claims.
Advice: Kote the one to beat but Cruel Summer (if wet) and All Machiavellian (if dry) can run well at odds.
RACE 3
Overview: Tricky race this. Hameron was a shade disappointing last start but he just hit his usual flat spot and he did still pick up late in the piece. Alcyone wants the rain to arrive and he was just on the wrong part of the track last start. Wicklow didn’t have a lot of luck last start and must also be respected, while Kiss The Bride and Quality Time are both coming off dominant wins last start and must be each-way chances.
Advice: Not much between these. Hameron the one to beat.
RACE 4
Overview: Cadre Du Noir is simply flying of late and he looks the one to beat again here. He wouldn’t mind some rain. Herman Hesse bounced back to form last start and he just wants the track to be relatively dry to have claims again. Grove Ferry and Fun Fact look to be on the next line but happy to side with Cadre Du Noir.
Advice: Leaning to Cadre Du Noir.
RACE 5
Overview: Even race this. Solar Apex carries a super fresh record and he just needs to get onto the back of one turning for home to run really well. Narrated can bounce back if the rain arrives, while Ita is building nicely this campaign and is on the quick back up here. Finepoint and Arctic Thunder are also in the mix.
Advice: Solar Apex at the odds.
RACE 6
Overview: Intriguing race. I think it all depends on what run Best Of Bordeaux gets up front but if he can lead and roll along, he should be hard to catch. Opal Ridge should stalk him everywhere he goes and I don’t want to be losing on the race if she wins. Swiss Exile on the next line and he was too bad to be true last start.
Advice: Best Of Bordeaux from Opal Ridge.
RACE 7
Overview: Very open mares race. I know she was big odds last start but Electric Girl has claims if the rain doesn’t arrive. The 1400m suits and she sets up well third up. Palaisipan is going great guns and I loved her last 50m last start. The extra trip suits. Nimalee, Espiona (disappointing first up) and Startantes are all winning chances as well.
Advice: Electric Girl if the track is dry.
RACE 8
Overview: Track pattern and conditions look crucial here. In Secret was super last start but she did get the perfect run and everything panned out well for her. I don’t think she wants too much rain. Golden Mile was very strong through the line last start and he brings that different form line to the table here. Fireburn and She’s Extreme come right into play if the rain arrives, while the Victorian form of Jacquinot must be respected as well.
Advice: In Secret the one to beat but Fireburn is a great chance if the track gets to heavy
(forecast up in the air as I type this).
RACE 9
Overview: I don’t mind this race from a betting perspective. Surf Dancer has been flying of late and I think this sets up well for him out in front. He gets in light and should be hard to catch. War Eternal profiles well third up on the quick back up and he did run fourth in a Randwick Guineas third up last prep. Ellsberg has great claims but looks too short in betting, while Old Flame and Rustic Steel are in a similar boat and have claims.
Advice: Surf Dancer and War Eternal to win.
RACE 10
Overview: Open race to finish the day. Fire missed the start last start and he is doing a few things wrong in his races. He has the talent to win this though. Tristate is building nicely this prep and looks ready to take another step forward third up, while Starman and A Very Fine Red are sure to have admirers as well. Winning Verse also has claims at each way odds.
Advice: Winning Verse can run well at odds.
