Best bets and jockey to follow for Terang races Monday

Putting my faith in jockey Joe Bowditch to have a big day as he pilots two of our bets while we can get on the board early with a promising filly.

BEST BET

DIAMONDS AND RUST - $3.80

Race 7 No 8

Former NSW-trained galloper that is now thriving in Victoria for Symon Wilde. Made good ground late last time out after being slightly held up and like that she steps out to 1850m for Monday’s test.

NEXT BEST

KADENA - $2.80

Race 2 No 14

Has raced well without winning in her three starts but gets her chance in this. Drawn out wide but has the early speed to overcome it and I like her dropping back from 1200 to 1000m.

VALUE BET

NORDIC SYMPHONY - $9

Race 8 No 2

Stepped in grade last time out and while she finished eighth of 10, she was only 2-½ lengths off the winner after racing keen. Drops back in class here and is drawn well with Joe Bowditch in the saddle.

JOCKEY - JOE BOWDITCH

The jockey who piloted Viddora to two Group 1 victories could be set for a big day at Terang with a strong book of rides, including our best and value bet.
