Shayne O'Cass
Race 5, No. 5
OPEN BOOK $7.50
A quality colt that has come a long way in a short time. Runner-up in the Ming Dynasty at only his third start in a race and has been back to the trials since and looked in superb nick. Gets the on-pace favours from the good draw and will be hard to get past.
Steve Zammit
Race 7, No. 3
SACRED FALLS $13
Is only lightly-raced with a good record and has been set for this race by the all-conquering Chris Waller. Wasn't suited by the slow speed last time out and is sure to get a more hectic pace in the Epsom. Certain to be charging home at the business end.
Ray Hickson
Race 7, No. 4
REKINDLED INTEREST $17
Quality galloper who hit the line hard first-up with a big weight at Moonee Valley in a very strong form race and the trainer immediately pointed to the Epsom for his next run. Second-up last spring he ran third in the Dato' Tan at WFA over a mile and he comes here with 55.5kg. Big overs at $17.
Ray Thomas
Race 8, No. 10
HIDDEN WARRIOR $17
Hidden Warrior ran a blinder first-up when beaten less than a length into fourth position behind boom sprinter Sessions. He will strip fitter for the Premiere Stakes, he's drawn to get the soft run from gate three, and is terrific value around the $17 mark in a very open race.
Christian Nicolussi
Race 9, No. 2
MORIARTY $4.40
This serious stayer has been set for this race and could not have been more impressive last start. His rubn beforehand was also a beauty. Prince Cheri's presence will ensure Moriarty doesn't start too short.
FLEMINGTON
Rod Nicholson
Race 8, No. 3
HAPPY TRAILS $31
Seems super value at $31 and especially the $8.27 the place. He is a Cox Plate horse, the distance will suit and although he missed a run early in his campaign, his effort for fourth behind It's A Dundeel and Atlantic Jewel at Caulfield last start was super.
Michael Manley
Race 8, No. 4
SUPER COOL $8
Not much luck last start when fourth only beaten half a length by Fiorente in the Dato Tan Chin Man Stakes at Moonee Valley. Gets back to course and distance which produced his best win in the Australian Cup. Should get a nice on-pace run and $8 looks nice each-way value.
Adam Mobbs
Race 10, No. 9
PERON $3.70
Supremely talented four-year-old mare who had an excellent Brisbane winter campaign. She warmed up for her race return with an almost seven-length trial win before storming home to finish strongly behind Driefontein in the Sheraco Stakes at Rosehill. Scratched from the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes last Sunday to run here, and should start a lot shorter come Saturday afternoon.
DOOMBEN
Daniel Meers
Race 6. No. 6
FRIENDLY DRAGON $11
Lightly framed three-year-old who hasn't had a lot of luck this campaign. Will get back in running and should hit the line powerfully. Chris Munce is a key booking Saturday. Don't be surprised if he runs over the top of them.
Nathan Exelby
Race 3, No. 5
ANNA LIZZIE
She drifted to remarkably big odds when resuming, but punters are unlikely to be as wary this time. Awesome win and the form behind her has been outstanding. $3.30 early doors should be thin on the ground by Saturday.
MORPHETTVILLE
Tom Biddington
Race 5, No. 6
DARTOOK
Been competitive in two runs this campaign, both in much stronger Melbourne company. Looks right up to this class and the $9 currently on offer looks great value.
