Australia's favourite tipster analysis the form for Saturday's Kensington meet

THE Villiers, a famous Randwick "mile" race, is the premier event on Saturday, but it is also the hardest to find a winner.

Ninth Legion ridden by jockey Peter Robl (yellow cap) wins at Warwick Farm.
Ninth Legion ridden by jockey Peter Robl (yellow cap) wins at Warwick Farm.

THE Villiers, a famous Randwick "mile" race first run in 1892, is the premier event to be run in Australia on Saturday, but it is also possibly the hardest race for punters to find the winner.

I believe 12 of the 14 starters have chances but I think a runner who is definitely over the odds is the $21 shot Limes from the Peter Snowden stables, who will be ridden by stable rider Kerrin McEvoy.

Snowden and McEvoy combined for four winners on the Kensington track last Saturday so Limes is with an in-form team.

I think his last two runs have been better than they might look on paper and, don't forget, just five runs back in May, Limes won the Hawkesbury Guineas beating Boban, a horse now acknowledged as one of the best in the country.

Race 1 (1.10)

Betting: $2.90 Black Revolver, $3.20 The Alfonso, $5 Lofty Ambition, $5.50 Frespanol

Comment: Lofty Ambition, an impressive all the way winner at Canterbury last start, is likely to set the pace again with Recife Beach and Frespanol close up and the Waller pair, The Alfonso and Black Revolver, come from off the pace. Black Revolver might get the better run, but I feel The Alfonso has been slightly the more impressive.

Bet: 5 The Alfonso

Exotics: Quinella 5 The Alfonso as standout with 3 Black Revolver and 4 Lofty Ambition

Race 2 (1.50)

Betting: $4.40 Baio, $5 Super Willie, $5.50 Mossfun, $6 Believe Yourself

Comment: The best of the raced horses, Baio, Dream Habit, Princess Command and Dual Star, look useful more than brilliant and might not take a lot of beating although Baio could have some upside. Of the unraced brigade Super Willie looked to trial the best with Chain Reaction, Mossfun and Believe Yourself also going well.

Bet: 5 Super Willie

Exotics: Box trifecta 1 Baio, 3 Chain Reaction, 5 Super Willie, 6 Princess Command

Race 3 (2.30)

Betting: $3.30 Koroibete, $4.80 Another Prayer, $6 Celtic Prince, $6.50 Blowin' Your Mind

Comment: Should be fair speed and the two three-year-olds, Koroibete and Another Prayer, appeal. Another Prayer is improving with every run and she overcame a bad check to win at her last run. Koroibete has been going well in Saturday grade and this distance should be a plus. At All Costs, Blowin' Your Mind, Chestnut Road, Done Nothin' Wrong and Celtic Prince are all worth a thought.

Bet: 11 Another Prayer

Exotics: Box trifecta 4 Chestnut Road, 6 Celtic Prince, 8 Koroibete, 11 Another Prayer

Race 4 (3.10)

Betting: $2.90 Secessio, $3.20 Hoylonny, $4.60 Maluckyday, Permit, $6.50 Martinvast

Comment: I don't know if Hoylonny can run 2400m, but his was the best run in the ATC Cup, 2000m, won by Travolta at Rosehill two weeks ago in which Maluckyday, Secessio and Permit also ran. You are betting on old form with Maluckyday and Permit but they will be suited by the distance and Secessio is racing in good heart.

Bet: 2 Hoylonny

Exotics: Box trifectas 1 Maluckyday, 2 Hoylonny, 4 Secessio

Race 5 (3.50)

Betting: $3.80 I've Got The Looks, $4.60 Kristy Lee, $7.50 Maysoon, $9 Breakfast In Bed

Comment: Maysoon has raced just four times and is improving with every run. She can race forward out of trouble and should be hard to toss. I've Got The Looks did not have much luck behind Inside Job last start and is a big show and Kristy Lee is honest and always hard to beat in this class.

Bet: 12 Maysoon

Exotics: Box trifecta 1 Kristy Lee, 6 I've Got The Looks, 11 Recoinage, 12 Maysoon

Race 6 (4.30)

Betting: $6.50 Sysmo, $7 Taxmeifyoucan, $8 Ninth Legion, $9.50 Coup Ay Tee,

Comment: Almost a lottery with luck in running playing a huge part in race with a dozen chances. Apart from the top four in the market, Alma's Fury, Said Com and Strike The Stars should get good runs and Limes, who will go forward, looks over the odds.

Bet: 13 Limes

Exotics: Box trifecta 1 Coup Ay Tee, 3 Alma's Fury, 5 Said Com, 7 Strike The Stars, 13 Limes

Race 7 (5.10)

Betting: $5 La Pieta, $6 King Cobia, Coins, $7 Forarainyday, $7.50 Sultry Assassin, Turbulent Jet

Comment: I thought Coins turned in a better run than the winner La Pieta when second to her at Rosehill two weeks ago and she can turn the tables today. Cobia will be up on speed and out of trouble, The Owl and Turbulent Jet are in the mix and Forarainyday and Reflectance can improve on their latest runs.

Bet: 11 Coins

Exotics: Box trifecta 4 King Cobia, 11 Coins, 12 La Pieta, 15 Turbulent Jet

Race 8 (5.50)

Betting: $2.70 Heart Testa, $5 Aeronautical, $5.50 Safeguard, $6 Zaratone

Comment: Zaratone, as usual, will set the speed, but he goes better at Rosehill than Randwick. The consistent Heart Testa will be up on the pace and hard to get past. Of the others Safeguard won't be far away and Aeronautical goes well fresh.

Bet: 7 Heart Testa

Exotics: Box trifecta 2 Aeronautical, 7 Heart Testa, 11 Safeguard, 12 Dee'N'Gee.
