‘World’s sexiest athlete’ Alica Schmidt cries tears of joy
A German athlete, dubbed the “world’s sexiest athlete”, was caught on video in tears after receiving some extremely overwhelming news.
Alica Schmidt broke down in tears after finding out she’d been selected to compete at the European Championships.
The German runner, 23, was recently in action at the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Taking part in the 4x400m mixed relay, she and her teammates unfortunately couldn’t make the final – coming fifth in their heat, The Sun reports.
Schmidt’s attention will now turn to the European Championships, where she will get to compete in front of a home crowd.
The action will be taking place in Munich and Schmidt, dubbed the “world’s sexiest athlete”, is excited to compete in front of her family and friends.
In an interview with German outlet Sport1, she said: “I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere at the stadium and to compete myself knowing that my friends and family will be cheering me on at the stadium.”
After her selection was confirmed, she wrote on Instagram: “Selected for the 400m individuals at the European championships.
“Guys you have no idea what that means to me! That was my main goal this year and I knew it would be everything else but easy to achieve it.
“I’ve worked so hard and gave so many sacrifices in the past month to get to run in Munich in front of a home crowd.
“To achieve this goal now is the best feeling ever and I‘m beyond happy.
“Cheers to the most special race of my career so far can‘t wait.”
As well as the thrill of competing at home, Schmidt also has an eye on the Paris Olympics in two years.
She said: “I know that I have what it takes and I’m looking forward to going full throttle in the new season.”
After all her hard work in training, Alica recently enjoyed a night out.
She donned a summer dress as she let her hair down following a gruelling summer schedule.
