UFC fighter Miesha Tate’s wild birth story behind first baby pictures

A star UFC fighter has revealed the incredible first pictures of her new baby after enduring a wild birth that caught everybody off guard.

Former UFC champion Miesha Tate has welcomed her second child to the world — after giving birth on her bathroom floor.

The 33-year-old bantamweight star who was famously one of Ronda Rousey’s greatest rivals welcomed her new addition on Sunday morning (AEST).

And she was forced to tough it out at her Singapore home in the early hours due to not having enough time to make it to hospital, The Sun reports.

Tate revealed the happy news on Instagram as she shared snaps of the baby boy.

She captioned them with: “Daxton Wylder Nunez was born at 8.20am June 14th in our home. We welcomed our son as a family..... it was perfectly imperfect and I am over the moon!”

The snaps showed the American and her fighter husband Johnny Nunez crying as they cradled the new arrival on the bathroom floor.

Daxton Wylder Nunez came like a freight train.

She continued: “Such a strong little man wanted to come into this world so quick he decided to come in our very own bathroom.

“What an experience to deliver your own child. It’s a bond we both will have for the rest of our lives. Momma was such a trooper!”

It comes just days after she showed off her huge bump as she revealed she was past 40 weeks pregnant.

In another Instagram post, Tate had written: “40 weeks +2 days, I’m not thrilled but No, I won’t be getting induced.

“Fun fact, you’re not actually overdue until 2 weeks past the EDD (Estimated Due Date). Only 4% of babies are born on their EDD so clearly it’s not that accurate.

“I’m ranting but it needs to be said. Hospitals are run like most businesses, to be efficient and to make money.

“Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful to have hospitals & doctors, I transferred my last home birth to a hospital and this time I will be at the hospital to give birth as well BUT I searched high & low to find a doctor & facility (they have birthing tubs yay!) that would support my desire to have only absolutely medically necessary interventions with a doctor who trusts women to birth their babies naturally.”

Miesha Tate went the distance with her pregnancy.

Daxton’s arrival comes almost exactly two years after Tate gave birth to her first child, daughter Amaia Nevaeh Nunez, on June 4, 2018.

The ex-bantamweight title holder has not fought in the octagon since losing via decision to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205 in November 2016.
