The world’s most desperate athlete

PROFESSIONAL athletes don’t traditionally have too much trouble attracting attention from the opposite sex.
But this guy is battling.
At every one of his games, Chicago Cubs minor league baseball player Anthony Giansanti is leaving a ticket for UFC star Ronda Rousey at the box office, or what Americans refer to as “will call”.
He’s done it ever since his promotion to the Tripe-A Iowa Cubs earlier in July.
The outfielder gives Rousey a heads-up about when and where the game is each night.
@RondaRousey tonight's game is at 7 again in Des Moines. You'll have another ticket at will call. #Everyday #JustOne pic.twitter.com/nXObKmns3B

Why’s he doing it?
“She’s an incredible fighter,” Giansanti told the Des Moines Register.
“I’m a big UFC fan and she’s also incredibly good looking. I mean, why not?”
Unfortunately for Giansanti, Rousey has yet to take him up on his offer.
But, it appears there’s good reason for it.
Rousey’s mother, AnnMaria De Mars, got in on the act, taking to Twitter to inform the 26-year-old major-league hopeful that Ronda is sort of busy right now training for her upcoming match against Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in Brazil.
@PROMMA @GianSanity @RondaRousey She's kind of got this thing in Brazil right now

Of course, with the help of social media spreading Giansanti’s dream — to meet Rousey, not make the big leagues — maybe his wish can come true.
@DrAnnMaria @PROMMA very true. I've been selfish...can't wait to see her defend her title! Then perhaps at a baseball game ð #FingersCrossed

In the meantime, it would appear Giansanti has plenty to keep him busy...
