YESTERDAY we told you the story of Shawn Oakman — the scariest man in sport.

The 206cm, 123kg monster who was described by one of America’s top trainers as “the most genetically gifted athlete I’ve ever seen”. The man who squats 270kg and has only six per cent body fat.

Well, the 23-year-old sent the internet into overdrive on the weekend and he wasn’t even playing. The Baylor defensive end missed the Bear’s opening game of the season for breaking team rules, so he was forced to watch from the sidelines. And he was still an intimidating sight.

Here’s how the internet responded.

Fox Sports put Oakman at No. 1 on their annual list of the biggest “freaks” in college football, and it’s no surprise given the praise he’s been receiving, especially from high-profile trainer Travelle Gaines who has worked with NFL stars Reggie Bush and Marshaw Lynch.

“He’s the most genetically gifted athlete I’ve ever seen with my own eyes,” Gaines told Bleacher Report. “Shredded, strong, explosive, fast. He shocked me with some of the things he can do ... I won’t be surprised if Shawn has the best combine of anyone in history.”

Oakman didn’t have the chance to show off the attributes that make him so feared when his team did battle with SMU on Friday, but he won’t waste any time scaring the life out of his opponents when he gets back onto the field.

“People are going to be intimidated regardless. You get hit in the face so many times, you’re going to get intimidated. It’s not the jersey. It’s not the helmet. It’s me. It’s me and this heart that’s going to intimidate you,” Oakman told the Oklahoman.

Oakman is set to take part in the NFL combine next year, hoping to graduate from college football to the elite level. Coming off a season where he tallied 11 sacks, 19.5 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles, it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see him recruited as the No. 1 draft pick.
