Sports stars have too much time and money

MO MONEY, Mo Problems? That would not appear to be the case for these US sports stars who have more cash and spare time than they know what to do with.

TOO MUCH MONEY

NBA star LaMarcus Aldridge is about to give the Manolo Blahnik-loving Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money.

Speaking with SLAM magazine, the San Antonio Spurs stud reveals his new Dallas compound will boast two homes, one specifically tailored to his massive shoe collection.

“I’m in the process of building a separate house behind my house just for shoes,” Aldridge explains.

The serial shoe-snapper, who regularly posts photos of his tricked-out kicks on social media, will be sharing sneaker-selfies from a whole new locale this year. Following his nine-year stint with the Portland Trailblazers, Aldridge inked a four-year, $80 million max deal with San Antonio last month.

TOO MUCH TIME

Former NFL star receiver Chad Johnson, whose celebrity outlasted his playing career, issued a challenge — and a promise — this week: He will beat you at FIFA.

That kind of bravado is typical on Twitter — but Johnson followed through.

When one Twitter user responded with his Norfolk address, the man formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, out of the NFL since 2011, told him he had just arrived in Richmond, Virginia, and would see the challenger soon.

According to Google Maps, that’s 149km. But anything to beat someone at a video game, right?

“They probably thought I wasn’t go to show up to play FIFA, but I pulled up on those steps, and I’m passing out ales all the way in Norfolk,” Johnson says in a video he posted outside the house.

If Johnson were handing out ales, his new Norfolk buddy was handing out FIFA lessons. Barcelona edged Real Madrid 4-3, and Johnson had travelled a few hours in an Uber to lose.

“2 hours for that L…you’re welcome @ochocinco,” the victor wrote on Twitter.

That’s a long Uber ride to get beaten.
