Rugby league great Sam Burgess unveiled a new girlfriend on the red carpet in Rome — and now her identity has been revealed.

The identity of Sam Burgess’ new girlfriend has been revealed days after the two went public after stepping out together in Rome.

The rugby league great and his new flame set tongues wagging after appearing on the red carpet at the premiere of Russell Crowe’s new film Poker Face on Sunday evening.

Burgess’ new girlfriend has been revealed as Lucy Graham, with the two, according to a Daily Mail report, having known each other for about 20 years.

Graham is a hairdresser from Leeds who runs her own fashion business, Sentenced.

The pair have reportedly known each other since their teenage years with the Daily Mail reporting they’re “taking things steady”.

Graham wore a black mini dress and gold strappy sandal, accessorising with a Chanel handbag and golden bracelet, while the ex-footballer donned a grey suit, white shirt and white sneakers.

They were later spotted exiting their hotel room and taking a scooter ride together.

Rabbitohs co-owner Crowe made an appearance alongside girlfriend Britney Theriot, while Elsa Pataky, Liam Hemsworth and Jacqueline McKenzie also turned heads at the premiere.

Burgess was stood down from position as an assistant coach at South Sydney in October 2020 after his ex-wife Phoebe Burgess made allegations of domestic violence and drug use.

The former Rabbitohs great denied all allegations and any wrongdoing.

Police last year cleared Burgess following a year-long investigation into allegations outlined in explosive media reports.

In March, the NRL finalised a separate integrity unit investigation and issued him with a three-month suspension and $30,000 fine.

Police launched an investigation into the domestic violence allegations made against Mr Burgess after being made aware of a 50-page statement prepared by Ms Burgess, but after a 12-month investigation said that: “Following extensive inquiries, no further police action is expected to be taken.”

In May last year, Burgess escaped having a conviction recorded against his name after he was pulled over in the Southern Highlands in April last year.

He was charged with driving without a licence, using an unregistered vehicle and drug driving.

The allegations emerged amid the context of Mr Burgess being charged with intimidating his ex-partner’s father Mitchell Hooke.

Mr Burgess was last year convicted of intimidating Mr Hooke before he successfully appealed and overturned the decision a month later.

The Burgess’ shared two children together before divorcing in January 2019.
