Richmond star Nathan Broad is making the most of his downtime, showing off an enormous new piece of inkwork that dwarfs his teammates’ tatts.

Nathan Broad may not have eyes on the back of his head but he’s got a fresh set on another part of his body — along with a whole lot more after some lengthy visits to the tattoo parlour.

The two-time premiership winner with Richmond took to social media to show off his seriously detailed new inkwork that covers his entire back as he makes the most of his off-season.

Broad posted the addition to his skin on his Instagram story and it was also shared by the team responsible behind the design at Bali’s Flash Ink Tattoo Studio.

The art is sure to make Broad top dog at Tigerland in the tattoo stakes at a club that’s used to players turning their bodies into a canvas.

Gun midfielder and 2017 Brownlow Medal winner Dustin Martin is covered in tatts and Josh Caddy also has some interesting ink he admits was inspired by an unusual source — Instagram model and beauty blogger Marina Laswick.

“It’s just an Insta famous chick that I went and got a tattoo of,” Caddy said on The Footy Show earlier this year. “I went to Richmond, I had to fit in.

“I like it but I don’t think I’ll get any more.

“She’s a bit out of my league, she’s over in America.”

JENKINS GOES FROM VILLAIN TO HERO

Cats fans — or at least one of them — have changed their tune on Josh Jenkins after the former Adelaide forward was traded to Geelong.

The 30-year-old, who to date has played every single one of his 147 AFL games for the Crows, will line up alongside Patrick Dangerfield, Gary Ablett and Co. in 2020 after he was shipped to Victoria in exchange for pick No. 37 at this year’s draft and a future third-round selection.

And while Geelong supporters may not always have been so kind to Jenkins in the past, that’s about to change.

On his Instagram story Jenkins shared a message from a Geelong diehard welcoming him to the Cattery, which read: “Welcome to the Cats! Keen to see one of the best in the comp wear the hoops in 2020!”

Interestingly, that same person sent Jenkins a message in 2018 after the Crows beat Geelong during the regular season, saying: “You are the worst footballer to ever play in the AFL.”

Jenkins kicked two goals and two behinds that night as Adelaide defeated Geelong 16.16 (112) to 14.13 (97) but it’s all water under the bridge for the Geelong fanatic who the Cats’ new recruit gave a shout-out to on social media.

“I’m confused,” Jenkins wrote with laughing emojis over the top of a screenshot of the two very different messages.
