Online sportsbook Bovada.LV lost almost $1 million, including more than a dozen bets that paid out more than $10,000.
Bovada sportsbook manager Kevin Bradley said the majority of winners placed small bets on all-underdog parlay bets.
“We’re not getting this money back from the people that won,” Bradley told ESPN.com.
“The type of bettor that wins these bets throws a small amount of money on all the favourites or all the underdogs to try to get rich. Well, I guess it worked.”
The only fight that didn’t end with an underdog on top was the opening bout on the card where Ivan Jorge topped Josh Shockley.
The biggest upset by sportsbet.com.au’s odds was $4.60 outsider Sam Alvey’s knockout win against Cezar Ferreira.
In the main event, former champion Frank Mir ($2.33) revived his flagging career by knocking out Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the first round.
