Former golf star and Instagram sensation Paige Spiranac has taken aim at social media trolls after she called out golf as one big boys club.

After making a name for herself on the college golfing scene, Spiranac only had a short career as a professional and slammed the sport for being too exclusive and not a place where people who don’t fit the traditional mould can feel comfortable.
Since stepping away from the greens professionally, she has taken social media by storm by regularly posting photos of herself on the course wearing clothes that wouldn’t be accepted in official tournaments.

“It’s an act. I feel like everyone in golf is just playing this part of this perfect golfer when in reality it’s nothing like that,” Spiranac said.
“They call it a gentleman’s game but those guys definitely don’t act like gentlemen a lot of the time.
“There’s just so much hypocrisy in golf and it’s so frustrating for me.
“It’s this big boys club where if someone does something they’ll cover that up … but I wear a tank top and I’m the s**t and I’m the w***e and I’m the one that’s ruining the game.
“I’m not going to feel like I fit in when everything that I do, I’m an outcast.”
But after her latest podcast went live, the former golf star has been inundated with backlash on social media.
Fans savaged Spiranac with many of the comments labelling her an attention seeker and bringing it on herself.
Spiranac however wasn’t going to let the trolls win and hit back at several fans by stating all they were doing was proving her original point.

3. At least spell my name right if youâre going to insult me https://t.co/EkOsCgdLxS
She wasn’t done there with her responses to the tweet, also responding to another commenter she wouldn’t be changing her ways.
