Nick Kyrgios posts cryptic tweet after spat with girlfriend
Nick Kyrgios has posted a cryptic tweet after his girlfriend exposed messages between the pair and his love life dominated the headlines.
Nick Kyrgios has posted a cryptic tweet after his girlfriend Chiara Passari exposed messages between the pair following an alleged argument in hotel quarantine that saw them separated by police.
South Australia police responded to a call to the pair’s medi-hotel on Thursday afternoon after they were alerted to a verbal argument between two occupants, a spokesperson told news.com.au.
An investigation was conducted and no offences were disclosed, they said. Police confirmed Kyrgios and Passari would “spend the remainder of their quarantine in separate rooms”.
Taking to Twitter on Monday morning, Kyrgios wrote: “Those people you know are cut from the same cloth,” with exasperated emojis.
The tweet comes after Kyrgios found himself in the headlines for his personal life rather than his tennis. On Thursday, Passari shared an image on Instagram of Kyrgios with what she said was a “naked girl”.
Passari, who at the time was still sharing a room with Kyrgios, shared an image she claimed was of Kyrgios and another woman after a night out at a Melbourne nightclub.
Passari was asked by a fan during an Instagram Q&A on Thursday: “What happened that fateful night at 161 nightclub?” — a reference to Melbourne nightclub OneSixOne, where Kyrgios allegedly partied until the early hours back in February this year.
Passari then shared photo of a shirtless and sleeping Kyrgios. “That girl naked in bed with him isn’t me by the way … Hope that clears it up,” she said.
Kyrgios and Passari started dating in July last year, three months after the Aussie tennis star split from Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya.
In another post on her Instagram Story on Friday, Passari posted a screenshot of an apparent text exchange between her and Kyrgios. In the exchange, Kyrgios said he “didn’t do anything”.
“I didn’t do anything with her. Do you not think I’d tell you now?” he asked.
“No. I don’t,” Passari replied.
Passari accused him of “not thinking about what pain you would cause me when you had another girl in your bed”.
“I didn’t know I did? I was asleep!” Kyrgios told her.
“Surely you’re stupid,” said Passari.
“I’m not I passed out,” he said.
Passari captioned the Instagram story: “Guys he didn’t know he had a girl in his bed!! He was sleeping. Never heard of sleep cheating before.”
In a further post from Passari appearing to show more messages between herself and Kyrgios, the tennis player writes “you are toxic” and “shut your mouth and leave me alone”.
In February, Passari sparked rumours of a split when she uploaded a cryptic Instagram post. The pair unfollowed each other on Instagram at the time and weeks later Passari accused Kyrgios of clubbing until 6am in an Instagram Story posted on February 17, before quickly deleting the claims.
However by May, Kyrgios was telling The Daily Telegraph he was back together with Passari and happier than ever.
“I am super excited to get back on there … I am travelling with my best friend and girlfriend,” he said at the time.
