Liz Ellis expecting child with Matthew Stocks after IVF and miscarriage heartbreak

FORMER champion netballer Liz Ellis has announced that she is expecting a child after four gruelling years of IVF and three miscarriages.

FORMER champion netballer Liz Ellis has announced that she is expecting a child after four gruelling years of IVF and three miscarriages.

Ellis broke the news on The Project last night saying how excited she was to add to her family.

“It’s been four long years, I’ve had five rounds of IVF and three miscarriages, but finally, I am pregnant,” she said. “We’ve got a beautiful little girl, Evelyn, who turned four a couple of weeks ago.”

The 42-year-old, who is married to former rugby union player Matthew Stocks, said after having her daughter in 2011 naturally, she was expecting no fertility issues.

“I thought, ‘Oh, all you have to do is have sex and you’re done again’,” she said. “You learn a lot about yourself and your partner through this process. And it’s been a really long time coming and it’s really exciting.”

Ellis is currently taking part in a stage show called The Centurions with former netballers Sharelle McMahon and Catherine Cox.

She said all three of them were “knocked up”, something she described as “probably a world-first in theatre”.
