Liz Cambage blasts Andrew Bogut’s ‘obsession’, accuses him of blatant lie
The feud between Liz Cambage and Andrew Bogut has turned personal, after she called out the basketball great’s “obsession” with her.
The ongoing feud between Liz Cambage and Andrew Bogut has gone to the next level, with Cambage accusing the Australian basketball great of lying.
The two basketballers have been trading barbs on Twitter in recent weeks after Cambage’s threat to boycott the Tokyo Olympics over criticism of promotional pictures showing predominantly white Australian Olympic athletes, including one published by underwear company Jockey.

Bogut claimed the pair had been texting back-and-forth and implied the 29-year-old Opals star may been motivated to criticise the photo by factors other than racial equality, referencing her link to Bonds, who she fronted an underwear campaign for in 2019.
“We were texting back and forth all week leading up to that,” Bogut told news.com.au last month.
“We’re really close. We just thought we’d just light a little firecracker in the media.
“We’ve been texting and laughing about it … it’s been great”.
But that’s not how Cambage sees it, taking to Twitter to deny that was the case and accusing the NBA champion of lying.
Cambage said Bogut’s recollection of events is simply not true and she doesn’t even have his phone number.
“Wow. I do not have your number, I have literally never spoken to you away from a BA (Basketball Australia) event,” she posted to Twitter, along with a screenshot of the article featuring Bogut’s claim.
“This obsession is just f***ing weird. And my name still in your mouth......get a f***ing life.”
Cambage had previously called out Bogut for being “obsessed” with her.
“Mr Bogut’s obsession with me (is) so strange, it’s been like 10 years of you speaking on my name … if you want me just say that”, she tweeted in May, accompanied by several laughing and crying emojis.
Bogut responded: “Love ya @ecambage!” followed by an emoji with love heart eyes.
“Could you please not use all yellow emojis and use a more diverse range of emojis next time. Thanks!”
Cambage’s threat to pull out of the Olympics received a mixed response in Australia. Some applauded her for taking a stand while others, including former tennis star Todd Woodbridge, accused her of “disrespecting” fellow athletes.
She ultimately backtracked in an Instagram post, declaring she was “in” for the Tokyo Games.
