Jimmy Butler lives the high life having accumulated over $100 million in career earnings from the NBA throughout his career.

The fast life however is an entirely different story.

Butler doesn’t indulge in the flashy cars like his fellow Philadelphia 76ers teammates, preferring to get around in a Toyota Sienna Minivan.

Now we know the reason why he hasn’t joined Ben Simmons, who drives a Ferrari 488 Spider.

Butler attended the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal last week and jumped into the passenger seat alongside McLaren Formula 1 driver Lando Norris.

Norris, 19, in his first season in F1, was having a great time as he showed Butler around the track at high speed. Butler, didn’t seem to enjoy the ride.

“Yo, please don’t go that fast. You don’t got to go that fast,” Butler said as he strapped in to the seat with praying hands.

As the McLaren roared towards the first corner Butler clutched his knees and shouted at Norris to “relax”.

“Hey, woah woah, relax ... you’re going too fast!” he said.

Norris threw the car around the first few corners with a laugh as the basketball star struggled to keep his emotions in check.

“Oh, no no no no. Oh my gosh,” he shrieked.

Despite Norris proclaiming he was “only going slowly” the McLaren flew back up to top speed as they made their way out of turn four and Butler couldn’t take it anymore.

“My stomach is going to fall out my ass,” he said.

Not good, not good.
Not good, not good.

The only bit of the entire lap Butler seemed to enjoy was the slow nature of turn 10, but the joy only lasted a microsecond as Norris put his foot down coming out of L’Epingle and gunned it down the straight.

“You got to let me out,” Butler said.

“This is the fastest bit, it’s the best bit,” Norris responded.

“Well, we need to go slow. Ok, yeah, we’re straight I’m cool when we’re going straight. When you start doing all of this here you lost me,” Butler said.

The hilarious clip came to an end as the car approached the start line and Norris slowed the car down to a more enjoyable speed for Butler.

As Butler gets set to enter free agency, it’s a safe bet his next pay cheque won’t be spent on matching the exotic cars of his teammates.

After the scorching lap at the hands of a teenager, we can’t imagine Butler buying anything other than a mini van for the rest of his life.
