After what she had called a “rough” pregnancy, Seebohm had said she had a few requirements for Sampson’s name.

“Obviously we didn’t want something super crazy,” Seebohm said. “But we wanted something that was going to be unique.

The four-time Olympian took to Instagram, posting an image simply: “He’s here”.

Gallagher took to his Instagram account, posting: “The last 10 days have been the best of my life to date, Sampson Ryan Seebohm has changed our lives and we bloody love him he’s perfect.”

It’s lovely news that instantly earned well wishes from friends and fans on social media.

Aussie swimming legend Libby Trickett posted: “Congratulations — hope you’re recovering well and baby is adjusting nicely earthside x”.

Aussie Olympian Georgia Bohl wrote: “Good job Mummmaa and dadda. Aunty Gigi loves you already Sampson.”

Swedish world champion Sarah Sjostrom added: “Congrats.”

Swimming great Giaan Rooney said: “Congratulations team! Hope the little man is happy on the outside!”

MAFS’ Sarah Roza commented: “Ohhh my goodness! Congratulations @ryangallaghergram & @emcbomb… he’s an absolutely gorgeous baby boy!”

The arrival of Sampson must be a relief for Seebohm, who said her pregnancy had been “awful”.

“I just call myself Shrek these days,” Seebohm said as she joked about her swollen feet at an event last month.

Seebohm and Gallagher confirmed their relationship in December when rumours began to swirl after the swimming champ was first spotted with a diamond ring on her finger during a night out in Melbourne.

The three-time Olympic champion met the MAFS star on Channel 10 reality show The Challenge Australia.

The two kept their romance under wraps, only confirming their relationship on Instagram in December.

Seebohm previously dated fellow swimmer Mitch Larkin, before their messy split in 2018 amid cheating allegations, which he denied.

She dated Brisbane breakfast radio host David “Luttsy” Lutteral for more than a year.

Seebohm has admitted she was in a new relationship when she began filming alongside Gallagher for The Challenge Australia and quickly ended the relationship when it became clear she had romantic feelings for her reality TV co-star.

“Obviously it wasn’t a nice call to make, but I told him what was going on and that there was something there with Ryan and I didn’t see the point in wasting any more time,” she said.

Gallagher proposed with a trilogy diamond ring and thanked Goulburn’s Zantis Jewellers for helping him select the piece.

“It’s perfect – I’m so happy,” Seebohm said.

“It definitely had a Ryan flair to it and it’s something I’ll cherish forever.”

Now they have someone else to cherish forever.
