‘Fix this’: Footballer’s wife’s Covid rant

The model wife of a star footballer has accused the league of being “backwards” over a controversial Covid-19 vaccine policy.

Biden introduces vaccination mandate for some

Rachel Bush, the wife of NFL star Jordan Poyer, is demanding the NFL’s health and safety protocols regarding unvaccinated and vaccinated players be “fixed asap.”

The model — who’s been vocal about her pro-choice stance about vaccines against Covid-19— shared a series of angry tweets on Tuesday in response to a number of Buffalo Bills players being separated from the team after coming in close contact with a fully-vaccinated trainer who tested positive for Covid-19.

Wide receivers Cole Beasley (who has made it clear he is unvaccinated) and Gabriel Davis, along with defensive tackles Star Lotulelei and Vernon Butler, will miss five days of practice as part of the NFL’s health and safety guidelines.

All four players reportedly tested negative for the virus on Tuesday morning, though they will still miss practice as part of the NFL’s COVID-19 mandate.

Bush launched a number of fiery tweets about the situation after critics apparently slammed Beasley for his previous comments about the vaccine, in which he said last month, “I’m not anti- or pro-vax — I’m pro-choice”.

“I know damn well y’all are not about to put any blame on the players who 1) don’t have covid and are tested every day but 2) were in contact with a VACCINATED staff member,” she posted on Twitter.

“Y’all are so backwards it’s insane!” Bush tweeted in response to the players’ absence.

According to the NFL’s health and safety protocols regarding COVID-19, unvaccinated players face much stricter restrictions then vaccinated players. Along with a five-day re-entry process, unvaccinated players must test negative for the virus on each day before they can re-enter a team facility and resume practising again.

Vaccinated players do not have to isolate for five days if they are in close contact with someone who tested positive for the virus. Vaccinated players are able to resume practice after close contact if they continue to test negative and are asymptomatic.

In a second tweet, Bush wrote: “When the vaccinated have been proven to be the problem over and over in the NFL so far-especially within the Bills- but the unvaccinated who don’t have COVID are the ones getting punished? Somebody better fix this sh*t ASAP.”

Bills linebackers Matt Milano and A.J. Klein were also sent home Tuesday out of precaution, but the league did not deem them as coming in close contact with the COVID-positive trainer after conducting interviews.

Milano and Klein were deemed eligible to practice Wednesday.

“All these headlines should be starting off with ‘vaccinated staff member…’ then take it where you want it. But the reason we are missing 5 guys right now is because of a VACCINATED PERSON. Call it like it is,” Bush continued in a third tweet.

“I don’t want to point fingers at the staff member either..he/she had no choice, they had to keep their job. It’s the rules that need to be addressed and changed because the vaccinated are putting others at risk. It’s very clear now.”

Bush became one of the big stories during the NFL’s Covid-19 policy debate in May when she and a teammate of her husband, Cole Beasley, vented their frustrations about masks and vaccines.

Bush, who re-tweeted Beasley’s comments, explained to a fan on Twitter that she, along with Beasley are “making our personal opinions/choices public” because they’ve had enough of vaccine debates being a “one way” street.

“Bills Twitter needs to take a chill pill. Sit back and support your players,” wrote Bush, who seemingly spends her entire day arguing on Twitter about vaccines. “These are great guys, who do so much for your community. Can’t hate the whole team for having their own opinions and views. And I’m telling y’all AGAIN that majority of the team feels the same on this.”
