David Beckham strips off alongside 18-year-old son Romeo
Football legend David Beckham got up close and personal with son Romeo on his 18th birthday as the ex-Man U star tried to prove a point.
David Beckham stripped down to some very loud swimming trunks in a desperate bid to prove he’s still taller than son Romeo.
The 45-year-old football legend admitted he was having a hard time accepting that his second child is all grown up after his 18th birthday yesterday, The Sun reports.
Taking to his Instagram story, the 180cm Beckham shared a photo of himself and Romeo standing face-to-face, both in their swimwear.
In the first snap, both are smiling, with Beckham putting his hand on his son’s shoulder while looking down at their feet.
Some of Beckham’s impressive tattoos are on display, along with a glimpse at his tan line.
The ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid star wrote: “Me just trying to prove I’m still taller @RomeoBeckham.”
In the second image, Beckham is looking up — with he and Romeo appearing to be the same height.
This photo was captioned: “I mean, it’s pretty damn close — come on!”
Beckham had mentioned his struggle to accept Romeo’s adult age in his gushing birthday tribute, sharing a video with countless unseen photos of his son over the years.
He wrote alongside the post: “Happy 18th to my little man (or not so little anymore). You have grown into the most beautiful person and that as you say yourself (a man finally).
“We love you so much never give up on your dreams & goals. This shows from day one in my arms with the song you were born to up until our latest moment where yes, I had to finally admit my son is taller than me.”
The Beckham family posted more than 130 photos of Romeo between them yesterday, with his brothers Brooklyn, 21, and 15-year-old Cruz also marking the occasion — as well as his mum Victoria.
Brooklyn’s fiancee Nicola Peltz wished her future brother-in-law well, and Romeo was spoiled with loving messages from his girlfriend Mia Regan.
He had an intimate birthday gathering to mark his milestone age, with Victoria sharing pictures of the children with their grandparents before they tucked into a delicious-looking rainbow birthday cake.
