Footage of Tom Brady and Broncos gun Reece Walsh goes viral in America
Reece Walsh has joined the long list of athletes to go viral after catching an absolute dart of a pass from NFL legend Tom Brady.
Broncos star Reece Walsh has playfully teased his team’s CEO Dave Donaghy over the size of his potential future contract during a Tom Brady speaking event in Brisbane.
The NFL icon, who is touring Australia, lit up the show after event host JT Foxx commented on Walsh’s talent, suggesting he could earn between $25 million and $30 million annually in the US.
The comment prompted Walsh to jokingly ask Donaghy, if he had heard the praise.

Brady, known as the greatest quarterback ever, then threw a thunderbolt pass across the packed hall with Walsh collecting it effortlessly.
Footage of Brady’s dart was shared widely on social media in America and although some incorrectly referred to Walsh as a “rugby star”, everyone was blown away by the throw.
“Greatest athlete in American sports history right there,” one said.
“Everytime Brady sees a football it starts talking back to him like the green goblin mask,” wrote another.
Walsh, 21, also got a signed ball from Brady, and expressed his admiration for Brady’s career and approach to the game.
“Not every day you get to see Tom Brady talk and then get to catch a ball and get it signed,” Walsh said.
“How he applied himself everyday and his mentality … for myself, being at a younger age, it’s good to listen and hear one of the best players talk about his mindset and how he tackled every day.”
Walsh is anticipated to receive offers over $1 million per season when his current contract ends.
After November 1, 2024, a number clubs are expected to present substantial offers to him.
His salary for 2024 is reportedly around $400,000, with his contract with the Broncos set to conclude at the end of 2025, following his transfer from the Warriors.
The Broncos have already invested heavily in players like Payne Haas, Pat Carrigan, and reportedly Ezra Mam, which might mean Walsh would need to accept a lower offer to stay in Brisbane.
In his debut season with the Broncos, Walsh made a strong impact, earning a spot on Queensland’s Origin team.
Only two players in the Broncos’ history have ever reach seven figure salaries — Anthony Milford and Payne Haas.
Former NRL player Corey Parker explained that Walsh is deserving of $1.1 million-per-year if Haas is currently earning $1 million, but the Broncos do have a headache on their hands.
“The big challenge for the Broncos is paying these guys what they deserve, especially if they keep winning,” Parker said.
“To be honest, I don’t see how they keep all their guys.”
