Lewis Hamilton’s quarantine body transformation: Nothing changed
Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has made a mockery of how hard it was to stay fit during coronavirus quarantine.
You can imagine how Lewis Hamilton must have felt when the Formula One season was shelved because of the coronavirus.
The six-time world champion had trained his backside off after winning his third straight title in 2019, revealing ahead of the scheduled season start in March he was “fitter and stronger” than ever.
The evidence backed him up.
So to find out all that hard work was largely for nothing must have been a tough blow.
For many of us three months cooped up inside didn’t exactly result in impressive waistline maintenance.
But exhibit B below goes a long way to explaining why Hamilton is one of the greatest athletes in the history of his sport — and we’re not.
This is the net result of three months of isolation, an abnormal training schedule and surely moments where motivation was lacking.
As surfing legend Kelly Slater said in the comments on Instagram: “Dude!? Ripped.”
“With all that is happening in the world, my only get away is to train and channel the emotions and energy into building my body stronger,” Hamilton explained.
“This has been the best training period I’ve ever had, I can’t stop and I won’t!”
