Aussie WWE cult hero’s divulges gruesome Rumble injury

Aussie champion Rhea Ripley has revealed she was hiding an ugly secret as she smashed records during her Royal Rumble triumph.

Aussie WWE champ Rhea Ripley says she dislocated her knee as she revealed her war wounds from her brutal Royal Rumble triumph.

The powerhouse entertainer, whose real name is Demi Bennett, outlasted 29 other women to seal her shot at the women’s championship for WrestleMania on Sunday, The Sun reports.

Despite coming out as the first entrant, the 26-year-old made history as she eventually eliminated Asuka and then Liv Morgan to win the Rumble.

Ripley, who is a member of the Judgment Day faction led by Finn Balor, lasted over 61 minutes in the ring.

She now holds the record for the longest female Rumble match performance.

However, now the true extent of just how good her exploits on Saturday were have come to light after she let slip an injury she suffered early on in the gruelling bout.

Speaking at the Rumble post-show press conference, Ripley said: “I’m obviously very beat up.

“My knees are not good in general.

“My knee dislocated for a second in the beginning, but it popped back in.

“If anything, I can smell blood in my nose.”

Ripley then shared a selfie snap of her face on Twitter, which is covered in several cuts and scratches.

And she captioned it with: “2023… The year of Rhea ‘BLOODY’ Ripley!”

Ripley now has the option to challenge for Bianca Belair’s RAW championship or Charlotte Flair’s SmackDown title at WrestleMania 39.
