Wallabies to meet Ireland, France and England as part of 15-Test 2025 schedule

The Wallabies have added to their 2025 schedule with four November Tests in the northern hemisphere.

The Wallabies will take on the northern hemisphere’s three top-ranked teams Ireland, France and England as part of a four-match spring tour that will also increase Australia’s 2025 schedule to 15 Tests.

The Australians will meet England (November 1), Italy (November 8), Ireland (November 15) and France (November 22) to end a year of matches that also includes the three-Test series against the British and Irish Lions in July and August, six subsequent Rugby Championship games and one-off matches against Fiji (July) and Japan (October).

“All teams now have an eye on the Rugby World Cup in Australia in 2027 and the Wallabies are very much looking forward to testing themselves against the best the northern hemisphere has to offer later this year,” Rugby Australia chief executive officer Phil Waugh said.

“Last year’s (spring tour) captured the imagination of Australian fans on account of the Wallabies’ strong performances and we are looking forward to another competitive northern hemisphere tour in 2025.”

Six Nations Rugby chief executive officer Tom Harrison said: “The matches will showcase the very best of international rugby, with the best teams in the world delivering box office entertainment throughout November.”

By that time, Joe Schmidt will no longer be coach of the Wallabies, with the New Zealander to stand down at the end of the Rugby Championship in early October.

Contenders to replace Schmidt include Les Kiss, Dan McKellar, Stephen Larkham and former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika, who reportedly met with Waugh on Tuesday.
