Talented mare Cholante will take a power of beating when she starts off fresh at Newcastle on Tuesday off the back of a now trademark first class trial win.

Talented mare that is way above provincial grade and trialled brilliantly - as usual, ahead of this.

NEXT BEST

Race 5 No. 6: Incessant

Savabeel colt who made $850,000 at the sales. Huge run on debut on the Kensington track. Nice horse.

INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1

Confess Our Dreams has won back-to-back trials in impressive style prior to her debut here in a 900m on Sep 30. Barrier one helped, so did the faultless ride, but kudos to the filly herself; she showed plenty of desire to stick her neck out and win. Why not again? Mr Trackside won his maiden at this track/distance first-up and was sound in defeat two weeks later in a Midway Benchmark 64 same course and distance. New local Recap has good form down in Victoria.

Bet: Confess Our Dreams to win, exacta 7 to beat 3

RACE 2

Kenology has run some good races in some good races. Take his most recent outing as a case in point where he chased home Unowho (run later on) in a mile Super Maiden at Warwick Farm. The big track is going to suit him, so too should Jason Collett who knows how to get the timing right. Chris Waller trained gelding Summons was a $560,000 yearling. You can guess who he is a half brother too - Subpoenaed, who else. That 8th of 11 here last start is entirely misleading. Godzilla is talented but getting a bit costly at the same time.

Bet: Kenology to win, quinella 2,4

RACE 3

Alvina’s Luck has been, and still is, building up to what will be her first win. The Ron Quinton trained mare has placed at two of her four starts and was disappointing at one of the others because she led and that’s not her go. She is better than pretty much all of these with the possible exception of Lindermann’s half sister and stablemate Cranberries who has trialled like she won’t be a maiden long into this, her second campaign. Outcast Girl has some deep form; she ran fifth to King Colorado one day and has trialled up well.

Bet: Alvina’s Luck to win, exacta 1 to beat 6

RACE 4

Justiciar is a Kris Lees trained three-year-old who was tipped out after his ‘fading’ fourth in an 1180m maiden on the Beaumont track on June 19 but it was a pretty hot race, talent-wise, bearing in mind that the stablemate Power of The Brave won it. Justiciar was bred to be better with a bit of racing and he has trialled well so seems to be on the improve. Hard Pick is third-up now over 1300m (tick) and this race looks inferior to what he ran in when runner-up at Bathurst last start. Wild Flash has ‘a winning draw’ if he can repeat his debut effort on the Kensington when he beat Matusalem home.

Bet: Justiciar to win, quinella 6,7

RACE 5

Incessant is a typical son of Savabeel out of an O’Reilly half-sister to Metal Bender and also a very close relative of Amarelinha. Hence why this colt was sold for $850,000 at the Karaka sale in 2022. He was $13 into $6 on debut on the Kensington track and you argue the case that he should have won. He is a nice colt. Sekani, a $1m Easter Yearling purchase, is a half brother to the $1.9m Magic Millions sale-topper Profundo. Getting better with each run he is. Stablemate Uncle Mario drew 11 of 12th, 11th of the turn but second at the finish here on debut over 1500m. What a run!

Bet: Incessant to win, Trifecta/First 4: 6 (stand-out) to beat 8,9,11,13 (boxed)

RACE 6

Unowho will be easy to spot in the run given he races in the Winx colours. He was pretty easy to spot last start at the Farm as he bounded away from her rivals, Winx-style. That was over the 1600m and this is 1850m but you couldn’t have programmed a better or more suitable race for her. Stablemate Marenaro is a last start 1900m Gosford maiden winner so is clearly fit and in-form. Mr Fabulous, who wants this trip big time, is the third foal of his dam; her first two are stakes-winners Emeralds and Four Moves Ahead. Koning ‘has’ to go in on form.

Bet: Unowho to win, Daily Double 1st Leg (7), 2nd Leg (11)

RACE 7

Cholante has raced seven times for two wins, unbelievable wins too, and one third. She has been unlucky at times, some of it her own making, some of it now, but there is no doubt she will win better races than what she already has. For the record, this is her first run under new management on Tuesday and the trials were outstanding - as usual. Toronomica, her new stablemate there at Richard and Will Freedman HQ, is a city winner and was under four lengths off Aft Cabin and others in the Eskimo Prince last preparation. Olivia’s Spirit only won a Grafton Class 1 by a neck but she was really impressive.

Bet: Cholante to win

RACE 8

Burnett was amazing on debut that day she won at Kembla coming from gate 11 of 11, 11th at the corner but passed them all to win. All four runs since have contained merit to varying degrees, even and especially that first-up run on the Kensington track where she bumped into a good horse in a race not run to suit - all of only one trial. Former Orange housed gelding How’s It Kev finished well to run fourth at this same venue at her first run for Maher/Eustace. Panic is lightly-raced and clearly talented. Hokkaido is a major contender.

Bet: Burnett to win
