After a week of historic results for Australian sport, the Matildas have an opportunity to make an instantly iconic moment at the Tokyo Olympics.
With our time in the pool over for the Tokyo Olympics, there’s still plenty to watch in the with the athletics in full swing and some of our team sports up for their biggest tests yet.
While the excitement of four gold medals on day 9 and Australia still basking in its best ever swimming haul, the nation is on the lookout for even more heroes.
While we won’t match the medal haul from Sunday, the Matildas have our football hopes and dreams on their shoulders in the semi-finals against Sweden at 9pm, the Opals need a crushing win over Puerto Rico at 10pm as well.
But that’s also just the tip of the iceberg with hopes in athletics, shooting and equestrian all possibilities.
