Nick Kyrgios has taken another pot shot at Kitty Chiller

NICK Kyrgios still has no time for Australian Olympic team chef de mission Kitty Chiller, having yet another dig at her.

NICK Kyrgios just can’t stop taking pot shots at Kitty Chiller.

The 21-year-old took to Twitter to mock the Australian Olympic team chef de mission after she revealed the sledge the tennis star made that went to far.

Kyrgios once mocked Chiller about her performance at the 2000 Olympics, where she competed in the pentathlon and finished 14th. “Ha ha she came 14th I don’t think that counts as competing in the Olympics,” Kyrgios tweeted.

In an interview with Fairfax Media, Chiller said that was the remark that cut her most deeply. “That threw me over the edge. That cut me to the quick. In retrospect, that was an emotional response with me not being happy with 14th 16 years ago,” Chiller told Fairfax.

“I’m sure, if I psychoanalysed it, that’s why it affected me.”

Kyrgios then had a go at Chiller for her remarks in the interview.

There’s been plenty of tension between the pair for months. In June, the world No. 18 announced he would not be making himself eligible to go to Rio, saying: “The AOC’s unwarranted attacks on me demonstrate the organisation’s inability to understand the circumstances surrounding highly competitive sports.”

Chiller put Kyrgios and compatriot Bernard Tomic on notice back in May following behaviour she deemed unbecoming of Australian athletes.

Chiller described Tomic’s antics in Madrid in May — where he intentionally tanked on match point against Fabio Fognini by holding his racquet the wrong way around — as “appalling”.

“I think it was appalling behaviour. It goes against every ... value that all the Olympians live by, it goes against everything that we’ve been trying to build in this team,” she said.

“I would not want to see any of our Olympic team members behave in that way.”

She then lumped Kyrgios in with Tomic.

“There’s a few athletes that are on watch and those two names (Kyrgios and Tomic) are among them. Every athlete is under the microscope now.”

He then took a pot shot at Chiller after pulling off a “tweener” shot at the Madrid Open, implying his sheer talent alone should be enough to see him included in the Aussie team.

Chiller was not impressed.

“I think his comments (on social media) show maybe he doesn’t really know what it means to be an Australian Olympian,” she said.

“It’s not just about winning on the court, it is how you go about it.”

In June she sent Kyrgios a 16-page letter asking him to explain his behaviour if he wanted to be selected for the Olympics.
