Channel 9 is set to unveil a Paris Olympics commentary line up featuring some of the greatest athletes Australia has produced.

Channel 9 is set to unveil a Paris Olympics commentary line up featuring some of the greatest athletes Australia has produced.

Nine’s coverage of the 2024 Games is headlined by Ian Thorpe’s role as expert commentator from the pool deck in Paris as the Aussie swim team chases another haul of gold medals.

The Paris Olympics begin on Friday, July 26 and run through to Sunday, August 11.

The International Olympic Committee awarded Channel 9 the exclusive TV broadcast rights for the Paris Olympics, as well as Los Angeles in 2028 and Brisbane in 2032.

On top of coverage on Channel 9’s main channels and 9Now, the network’s streaming arm Stan Sport will also run live coverage.

All events will be shown across a large range of 40 individual sport channels, an exclusive 24/7 Olympic News channel and four live & exclusive feature channels crossing between the big moments.

The network has announced some big names, including confirmation AFL commentator Gerard Whateley has been successfully recruited to call the athletics.

Nine’s coverage will be fronted by Ally Langdon, James Bracey, Dylan Alcott, Sarah Abo, Karl Stefanovic, Brooke Boney, Alex Cullen, Todd Woodbridge, Leila McKinnon and Eddie McGuire, Roz Kelly and Tony Jones.

Nine has also confirmed these commentators and experts will feature during the Games: Brenton Speed, Todd Woodbridge, Nick Boserio, Richard Fox, Andy Raymond, Grace Gill, Emma Snowsill, Will McCloy, Peter Psaltis, Adam Papalia, Russell Mark, Sean Maloney, Annabelle Williams, Matt Hill, Will Davies, Mark Taylor, Sophie Smith, Shane McInnes, and Jenna O’Hea.

Nine’s streaming arm Stan is also offering unprecedented Olympics coverage as part of an additional Stan Sport subscription package on top of a regular Stan subscription.
