Fans say same thing over Stephanie Rice’s second wedding
Stephanie Rice’s friends were all saying the same thing when the swimming champ and her new husband did it all again.
Stephanie Rice and husband Mark Lassey have shocked fans and even those close to them with a second wedding.
The glamorous couple continued their marriage celebrations as the frivolity stretched into a second event in Perth.
The newlyweds were back at it again on Friday when they continued celebrations with guests at a rooftop venue in Perth.
The couple, and Rice particularly, dazzled on their big day with photos shared on social media showing the pair celebrated in style.
The 36-year-old, who moved to Dubai in 2023, married pastor Lassey last week during an elegant, intimate vineyard ceremony.
The 46-year-old, who is also the father of three children, popped the question to Rice in September and they needed only four months to get Rice ready to walk down the aisle.
You can watch the special moment in the video below.
Photos shared on Instagram show the couple got hitched during a classy outdoor ceremony at Sandalford Wines on the outskirts of Perth.
The couple celebrated well into the night with their guests with only a select few getting a seat at a long table where the dinner was held.
The celebrations continued on Friday night with photos shared by Rice showing the three-time Olympic gold medal-winner got the wedding of her dreams — and much more.
“Because one night wasn’t enough,” Rice posted on Instagram where she showed off her daring second white wedding dress.
“We had the most amazing night celebrating our marriage and farewell with our favourite people, on the most amazing rooftop, in this beautiful city, under the presence of God.
“Thank you to all our family and friends who flew from across the world to make these the most memorable days of our lives.
“And to all of our @kingdomcity family who prayed, encouraged and honoured our love story. You all mean so much to us and made these two days so special. We love you.”
Rice’s fans were all saying the same thing after seeing the swimmer steal the show all over again in her dazzling new dress.
She rocked a bright, figure-hugging satin halter-neck gown which caught the eye.
Lassey was also no slouch with a classic beige suit look.
One guest at the second wedding celebration posted: “Night 2 was awesome - God didn’t just show up He poured in. What a send of”.
Another person on Instagram posted: “I CANNOT deal with these photos!!! Wow!! What a couple. What a night. What a love story”.
Another posted: “Ohhhhh my dayssss these photos! What a celebrationnnn! So much fun! Love you guys”.
It was a replay of the comments that came flooding in after the couple first dropped photos from their ceremony.
Rice was a vision in her classic, strapless dress which was partnered with a long flowing train.
Lassey was also in fine threads, complimenting a white tuxedo jacket with a bold black bow tie.
Rice quoted a bible verse as she shared adorable snaps of her and Lassey together.
“Surrounded by our closest family and friends, those who have loved, supported, and guided us on our journey, all came together to celebrate our love and the beginning of forever together,” she wrote on Instagram.
“As we step into this new chapter as husband and wife, where two become one, our hearts are so full. The day was everything we dreamed it would be—overflowing with love, joy, and the tangible presence of God. It felt like heaven touched earth.
“Thank you to everyone who made our day so special! We are truly blessed.”
Her caption also a quote from the book of Jeremiah in the bible.
“I know all about the marvelous destiny I have in store for you, a future planned out in detail. My intention is not to harm you but to surround you with peace and prosperity and to give you a beautiful future, glistening with hope,” Rice quoted.
Details of the wedding had been kept secret for months, however, the three-time Olympic gold-medallist did share news in October when she posted: “Packed two suitcases and headed for Australia to finish my Master’s degree and get married.”
Rice was returning to Australia from her new home in Dubai.
Rice said she was taking a leap of faith when she blew up her life and moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2023.
It seems to have paid off.
