Warning note posted in athletes’ village
A WOMEN’S cycling team was forced to post a stern message on the door to its room after receiving some unwanted visitors.
THE men’s 4000m team pursuit is the blue riband event of the track cycling program and after winning it for the third Olympics in a row Great Britain was always going to celebrate accordingly.
Bradley Wiggins, Steven Burke, Ed Clancy and Owain Doull broke the world record while relegating the Australian team to back-to-back silver medals in the event and were absolutely buzzing on the track afterwards.
We’re not exactly sure where they went after that but given none of them had further racing to worry about it’s reasonable to assume they gave it a fair shake.
Their comrades in the women’s pursuit team — who would also claim gold the following night — certainly had that expectation.
They were so concerned about being woken in the middle of the night ahead of their big moment by the hammered quartet they posted this stern, but friendly, warning note on the door of their room.
“To the team pursuit men … CONGRATULATIONS!!” it read.
“As we’re guessing you’re probably gonna be drunk by the time you read this, and a few of you have already come into our room accidentally — just a friendly reminder that *THIS IS NOT YOUR ROOM*.
“So please don’t try & get in at 4am. Love the girls, x.
“P.S. If you’re really stuck, you’re room is

Doull shared a photograph of the note on his Twitter page, writing “Hats off to the girls they know us too well”.
It’s the funniest note we’ve seen since sober Steve’s plea to drunk Steve.
