Aussie Olympian Benn Harradine posts cheeky snap of Olympic condoms online
WE’VE heard stories about the Tinder games, now one Aussie athlete has posted a picture of “Olympic condoms” with some sportsmanlike advice.
WE’VE heard the stories and it would seem the rumours are true.
Aussie Olympian Benn Harradine had some fun on social media overnight, posting a picture of an Olympic condom haul in Rio.
The 33-year-old discus thrower’s shot contained the caption “One of the rare occasions when second place actually wins. #oneteam #scipmylo #besafe #comesecond”.
The cheeky snap shows a bowl full of condoms along with leaflets emblazoned with the Australian flag.
It’s one in a series of pictures the social media savvy Harradine has shared throughout the Games including others of his dad — who is also his coach — “flipping the bird” in a family tradition started four years ago.
It comes after widespread media coverage of celebrations in the Olympic village where some of the world’s most successful athletes have taken to dating apps like Tinder to proclaim they have “plenty of time to kill” or are “looking for fun in Rio”.
There is even an Instagram account dedicated to showcasing the athletes online which purports to have profile pictures belonging to everyone from divers to swimmers and Olympic tennis players.
It’s been reported more than 450,000 condoms were handed out by Olympic organisers to athletes during the games by men such as “Eric” whose sole job was to walk around distributing protection.

And after sacrificing countless nights of going out in favour of hitting the gym, who can blame the athletes for letting their hair down?
