THREE Australian athletes are likely to compete at a Diamond League meeting in Monaco this weekend, just a day after an horrific terrorist attack shocked the world just minutes down the road.

Officials had confirmed on Friday that Aussie athletes Fabrice Lapierre (long jump), Ryan Gregson (1500m) and Luke Mathews (800m) were all safe and accounted for after Thursday’s devastating attack in Nice.

The athletes are believed to be staying in Monte Carlo.

This weekend’s Diamond League meeting is still scheduled to go ahead, despite Thursday’s terrorist attack which has claimed up to 80 lives.

Monaco is about 20km from Nice on the French south coast.
