UK Olympian Tom Bosworth proposes to his partner on Rio beach
THE Olympics are represented by five interlocking rings, one for each continent that competes in the Games. But at the Rio Olympics, rings of a different kind have stolen the show.

But rings of a different kind have arguably stolen the show in Rio.
Only three days after Tom Bosworth placed sixth in the Men’s 20km walk, he placed a wedding ring on partner Harry Dineley’s finger — the third proposal of the Games.

Bosworth’s proposal was made on one of Rio’s beaches, but it was by no means as public as the one made the night before.
In front of a global TV audience, Chinese diver Qin Kai got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend and fellow diver He Zi as she hopped off the silver medal dais.
just when i think I've seen it all at #Rio2016, Chinese diver Qin Kai proposes to girlfriend He Zi after she gets silver in 3M diving.

In accepting the proposal, Zi upgraded her silver medal to a diamond — much to the relief of Kai, who risked the most public of fails is she kindly declined his hand.
While some accused Kai of stealing Zi’s thunder, the commentary surrounding the first proposal of the Games was much warmer, summed up by the hashtag trending on Twitter: #shesaidyes.
It was one of those special moments that transcended sport, with both women embracing amid the chaos of cameras.
