Wests Tigers demolished by Sydney Roosters in 72-6 humiliation

The Roosters have absolutely obliterated the Tigers on Saturday night in the perfect farewell to the SCG, charging home to a humiliating 72-6 win in yet another footy bloodbath this weekend.
The home side threatened to make it a scoreless game for the Tigers, bringing the score to an incredible 60-0 with 15 minutes left on the clock. Nat Butcher opened up the account in the 12th minutes, before star second-rower Angus Crichton ran over with a double in just four minutes.

Butcher pierced the listless Tigers defence again at the 30 minute mark, and twice again in the 56th and 76th minutes.
At one point, the Roosters scored five tries in 22 minutes. Fox League’s Michael Ennis fawned over the Easter Suburbs powerhouse, describing their first-half performance as nothing short of “faultless”.
Their final total squeezed into the top five highest ever scores by an NRL team.
The final tally was 12 tries to 1, drowning out any hope left in Wests fans’ hearts as the team tries to salvage something from their horror season, which has seen them hot favourites to take the 2022 wooden spoon.
The Tigers copped an early blow with Luke Garner being forced off for a HIA — and then failing it.
The Roosters were merciless in the second half, hammering in the final nails to the Tigers 2022 coffin, leaving fans scratching their heads at another historic result on Saturday.
Thatâs some belting 72-6. Six straight for the Roosters and facing the Storm in Melbourne next week. The real litmus test. Can only play whatâs in front of you. 12 from 12 for Walker. What a night for him. #nrl#nrlroosterstigers

Punters weren’t too impressed with the NRL’s offering this weekend, with the majority of games being heavily one-sided.
The scoresheet for round 23 is anything but sporting.
The Cowboys blitzed the Warriors 48-4 to open the round, before the Storm went 60-12 against the Broncos.
Then the Eels made a meal of the Bulldogs 42-6 this afternoon, as Manly went down 40-6 to Cronulla.
The total for and against tally for the round going into Sunday is 288 to 56, with the average winning margin coming in at a whopping 37 points.
Michael Ennis and Corey Parker labelled the Broncos 60-12 capitulation to the Storm embarrassing and one of the worst losses in the club’s history.
The Broncos came into the game looking to test themselves against the best and after conceding 10 tries to a ruthless Storm outfit they got their answer, according to Parker.

“The Broncos look content as a football side,” Parker said.
“You go back to Round 19 against the Eels, they beat Parramatta 36-14. From that moment if I’m being honest they thought they were going a lot better than what they were.
“They played the Tigers a week later who dished them up 32-18. They played the Roosters who dished them up 34-16. They played the Knights, who while Brisbane got a win, they were very below par against a dismal Knights outfit.
“They come to Suncorp Stadium in front of 45,000 fans against the Storm who are a genuine top four team and this was going to be their litmus test.
“They wanted a good baring of where they are as a football side. They just got it.
“60 points to 12. Embarrassing. Up there with one of the biggest losses in the club’s history.
“A harsh, harsh reality check to that football side of exactly where they are at.”
