Viewers all left saying the same thing about Kid Laroi’s Grand Final act

The Kid Laroi is a global music icon, but viewers couldn’t help but point out one thing during his NRL Grand Final performance.

Sydney native and international recording artist The Kid Laroi has divided opinions after his performance ahead of the NRL Grand Final.

The Grammy nominated, multi-platinum, chart-topping musician took to the stage at Accor Stadium before the Storm and Panthers lock horns.

While the 21-year-old danced around the stage and tried to get those in the stands up and about, those watching on were all left saying the same thing.

And sadly it had nothing to do with the music star’s performance or his songs … it was the smoke machines that stole the show.

As he sang and danced, viewers were basically left guessing where he was on the screen as thick smoke filled the stage.

Dan Gorringe wrote: “Kid Laroi performance needs more smoke.”

Brad Cole wrote: “How many in Accor Stadium can actually see The Kid Laroi through the smoke?”

Another viewer posted: “Guys I can almost see the Kid Laroi can you turn the smoke up a little more thanks.”

While plenty of viewers were left questioning the display from the Sydney born musician, he received a lot of love from the masses.

One wrote: “Kid Laroi is goated. The parents might not know anything about him but the younger generation do.”

A second added: “Great performance Kid Laroi.”

A third wrote: “I’m just so hyped after this Kid Laroi concert pre game!”

Of course no grand final entertainment comes without a bevy of backlash from those sitting on their couches.

Former AFL player Daniel Gorringe tweeted: “This might be the NRL’s Meatloaf performance.”

One fan wrote: “Why do the NRL always cut corners and buy pregame entertainment from Temu?”

A second added: “Oh my, The Kid LAROI may make Billy Idol look like an NRL success story. Shocking audio mix and vocals all shroud in smoke machine cover.”

A third wrote sarcastically: “Starting to understand why I’d never heard of this Kid Laroi … once again NRL you’ve nailed the entertainment.”

While no act is ever going to receive universal praise from those on social media in this day and age, The Kid Laroi thankfully didn’t appear to suffer any malfunctions like Katy Perry did a week earlier.

The American pop sensation was almost spotless in her AFL Grand Final day spectacular at the MCG — but an unfortunate costume fail was spotted by viewers.

Fans across the internet had a giggle at the sight of one of the American’s dance crew running around with a deflated prop.

The sight of one performer running around with a deflated silver sack was impossible not to notice for those sitting near the display.

Despite that moment, Perry was a big time hit … even if some viewers weren’t completely on board with the display.
